Prodding Acura about Plug&Charge

I went onto the Acura EV app Monday and engaged the chat feature for support. I politely asked an update on Plug&Charge, which can get us support at Tesla, Ionna and even Electrify America. I was told those were in the works with no schedule communicated. I'm a bit skeptical, but if enough of us ask about this maybe they will make sure it happens. Worth noting that the July 22 press release by Honda about SuperCharger access mentioned that app integration with Tesla was actively being worked on, but no date commitment.

Honda/Acura are founding members of Ionna, and as such all founding members are supposed to have Plug&Charge support by year's end. If that does not happen, will be a very bad look for Honda. I mean, Ionna is small (growing fast, but small). But if we don't get P&C support at a network we founded, I don't know what to expect. Especially since GM is already supported (of course they are).

Ok, this hurts. I just discovered that Ford and Rivian, neither of whom are Ionna founding members, can now plug-and-charge at Ionna. We cannot yet, and we are founding members. Boy this hurts.

I wouldn't expect much from Acura until 2027, after the RSX releases.

I unfortunately can agree with you there. But also not sure the introduction of the RSX will help us any. They are bound to have different software stacks.

I noticed today that Ionna has changed, now saying that plug and charge support for "Honda, Stellantis & Toyota will follow in 2026".

Doesn't say Acura, though.

I'm hoping that the ZDX and Prologue share enough of the software stack that they get updated at the same time. Notice both got SuperCharger access the very same day.

I suspect that we can assume Acura will be included, as "Honda" is likely mentioned as they are one of the founding partners.
