One sudden information came out right before delivery

Hello guys,

I am really frustrated now. I am buying a 2013 ZDX down in Texas, and I did all the negotiation and purchase through phone. I already pay for the down payment and the car was supposed to be delivered to me on Friday 06/21. Here comes the thing, I called to the dealership wanted to follow up with them about the progress. They told me 2 days ago there was a thing that National Service Billboard? asked them to check every new ZDX, MDX and TL for potential engine failure in the inventory before it can be sold, say Acura don't want a grant recall of all those vehicle. The manager said if the result is positive, then they can still sell me; if not, they have to find me another car or refund my down payment.

It doesn't really make sense to me. First of all, they should have told me immediately while they received this info; second, I called the other dealership and they said there is no such thing.

What should I do? Were I being screwed? Is it possible that this dealership found another individual who is willing to pay more for this car and made up this lie?

Any opinion??

Sounds like BS but you gotta either wait or take the money and buy from another dealer

P.s. save money and buy a pre-owned 2012 Advance instead

I thought it so. Now they offered me a loaner car for my daily commute, since I've already sold my previous car. They still insist the ZDX I was buying has a Cylinder problem so can't sell that to me. Anyway, the solution is they will get me a Z from elsewhere.

The story smells fishy! If I were you, I would take the money back and run.

I second Sandro's rec. 2012 Advance instead. I had the same consideration when I were shopping for the ZDX and ended up with a 2012 Advance, which has all the features.

Best of luck!
