New style acura grill on my zdx and jewel headlights coming soon!
I did the grill mod a while back, here is the progress so far, jewel eyed headlights coming soon I'm just mocking up some options on some spares I have.
You definitely did a quality job with that grille--it looks like it came that way from the factory! Personally I prefer the beak (I think the ZDX is the only vehicle it ever looked good on), but am definitely curious how the jewel eye headlights turn out.
I disagree. The OEM design is really too much ‘beak’ IMHO (and the bumper still has one). The 3-D effect produced by the arrangement of those grill diamonds is quite dazzling. VERY artistic! It softens the slightly garish ‘pointy’ nose by drawing the eye in. Gives the ZDX a decidedly more ‘euro’ flair.
You dude are creating a newer model ZDX! Love my Original Shield Grill but love!! what you did !! Looks very good with Acura’s current grill and when you do the headlights I’m very anxious to see. That could tip me over to envy land. You didn’t say how you decided on this and how did you know that grill would fit our cars. Great job !! Maybe Acura should have done this 🤔
Nice work But (there's always a 'but' ) I'm on the fence about the new style grille. Love the grille design, but the Acura emblem is too damn big. Sure, personal opinion; however, think Acura could have used something a little less bulky.
Do you have CMBS?
Additionally, I've seen the headlight conversion on an older MDX. It will be an excellent mod for your ZDX!

Actually, now that I've had a chance to look at it some more, I think you made one critical error with the new grille (though it could just be the pictures). Is the grille surround chrome? Because it would look much better with the same "matte plastic" finish as the original beak and the fog light surrounds...

The surround chrome is from the original oem zdx grille.

Interesting. Must just be the way the sun's hitting it in that photo to make it look chrome (like the window surrounds) and not matte plastic (like the fog light surrounds).
I noticed the latest Mercedes version of the ZDX also has a hideously oversized grill logo/emblem. Sort of makes me yearn for the ‘good old days’, when the first thing hotrodders/cusomizers did was ‘nose & deck’ the body panels (my ‘85 CRX SI looked a lot better then, along with a teutonic repaint). Used to be, when a model was REALLY well designed, the brand logo was redundant, since everyone automatically knew the manufacturer! (Corvette was a Chevy, T-Bird was a Ford, and Jaguar made the XKE). Oversized logos = ‘thou protest too much’!

Dude your ridiculous ! You have some excellent skills taking old grill turning into new type updated grill ! Pretty Amazing!! Will confuse non ZDX owners when they see that car. 😂

You do that jewel headlight and you should work for Acura !😂 People going to be confused and think your car is a newer Acura ZDX. You got skills ! How the heck do you know how to do this ? Are you a engineer ?
I am curious, I have seen and read some threads on here in regards to the "Delete the Beak" grill for the Acura ZDX. Was this custom made by the car owner? Or, is this available somewhere online? I have searched for it, but can not find it. I would be grateful to know either how to create this look, or where to by such item.

The front grill mods were completed by the owners; however, I'm sure a reputable custom car shop can design one for you too. You can also color match the silver beak to the body, which makes it less noticeable.
