Hello all. My name is Chris, and I purchased a Black on Taupe ZDX Tech package last month. Went back and forth between black and Grigio. Every color looks good on this car, but I think I made the right choice. I love this car, and I love all of the looks that I get on the road, lol. I am enjoying all of the tech toys, including the ELS sound system and Bluetooth streaming audio.

I've got a question regarding the volume level of the beep that is made when the car is locked/ unlocked (also when the power tailgate is engaged). This beeping sound has always been pretty loud, to the point that I was considering disengaging it as a courtesy to my neighbors. Just the other day, I noticed that the volume of this beep was substantially lower. It sounded muffled as well. Where is this speaker located on the ZDX? It sounds like it's coming from the rear. I know that this is hardly an issue, but it just seems strange. Any ideas?? Thanks.

 

Hey Chris, congratulations! I didn't know there's black on taupe for the tech. I thought it was just the base.

For my ZDX I've never thought the beeping sound was loud. It has the same volume as my MDX. For both cars, if you press the fob once to unlock, the default setting is that it does not beep at all.

 

Thanks for your input. Yep, black on taupe for tech. I really liked black on black as well, but the contrast of the dark leather trim on the dash with the lighter color seats really caught my eye. I'm sure it will be hell to keep clean though....oh well

 

Now that you mentioned it Chris, I think the beep is coming somewhere from the rear.
