How Many Bugs/Glitches Does Your ZDX Have?

A few of mine...

1) Doors lock/mirrors randomly fold closed with 1 or 2 key FOBs inside.
2) Mirrors fold closed while driving(new bug/glitch since VWP update was done) - How is this even possible?
3) Rear hatch opens randomly(once in a Costco parking lot, few times at home in the driveway)
4) Failure to charge(error codes/exceptions thrown with warning lights on the dash)
5) Welcome lights randomly turn on/off when approaching the vehicle - Sometimes at night without a key FOB nearby
6) Charge port door opens while driving
7) Infotainment screen flashes off/on while driving
8) Park Assist slams the brakes on in a light rain

Acura has fixed the charge port door randomly opening, since it was a mechanical fix the dealership could replicate. The welcome lights may have been fixed, but the annoyance of them going on/off throughout the night has forced me to shut them off in the setting.

1. Interior rattle, easily fixed by dealer.

That's it.

As the programmer's poor humor goes....

Sung to the tune of 99 bottles of beer

Take one down, create a workaround

Where do I find the date of manufacture?

I checked the driver's side door with QR code and it "proudly" gives the location, but no date.

The date is slightly above the QR code, e.g. 07/24 for this listing:

So an early build. That's likely a contributing factor.

If the dealer is unable to fix the issues, lemon it.

Mine shows 11/24, which is very strange. Manufacturers usually start a new MY in August/September.

I'd suggest speaking to Acura Corporate before starting lemon law proceedings.
No manufacturer wants a car lemon lawed.
They may offer you a buyback and some other perks as a compensation. An MDX type S, maybe?

Nah, I'll take s HARD PASS on any Acura. The customer service has been the worst.

At this point, I've been in contact with Acura Client Relation since the charging failure bug/glitch/error codes/warning light occurred in the first 30 days of my lease(March 2025). Acura Client relations has been less than helpful and blames me for the incompatibility of the portable charger and built in functions of the ZDX.

Sadly, I'm still waiting to receive the charging package included in the lease from Acura. My dealer's finance manager(Homer from Acura of Modesto), states I'm lucky to not be charged extra for the charging package. Something I pointed out to him is included on the MSRP window sticker.

For the life of me I cannot figure out what could possibly be "incompatible" with any J-1772 portable charger. It is such a simple interface with such minimal communication between the car and charger. It is as nearly a simple an interface as possible for the task (in a good way).

What portable charger do you have? Does it work with other cars? Assuming you have no issues with other J-1772 chargers?

I have the Acura branded one I was forced to take on Day 1 of my lease. The incompatibility is what the Acura of Modesto service dept states on a work order from April 2025.

No issues with any DCFC's or level 2 chargers. I have a Chargepoint installed at home that works great.

That is beyond bizarre. The Acura branded portable charger isn't compatible with the Acura car. I have the Acura branded Enel X-Way hard-wired charger (has always worked) and bought the Acura portable charger (used once only, with the L1 dongle). Really wondering if I need to find a way to test that L2 dongle now... Where can I find a 14-50 plug near me...

I had essentially the same issue. Went with the portable charger, had an Acura-recommended installer put in a plug and circuit for it, and it failed most of the time. Installer said their experience is that about 10% of these installations fail, because of an incompatibility between the charger and the GFI that California code requires on the circuit. So I purchased a Level 2 charger from them, and they swapped it in for no additional charge. Never had a second’s problem since.

My question is, if you have a Level 2 charger at home, why are you beating your head against a wall?

I have a 220v exterior box with a NEMA 14-50 plug/50 amp breaker the AHE affiliated electricians are unable to hard wire the Acura Home Charger. The AHE affiliated electricians recommend I replace my interior breaker panel($3000+) to be able to install the Acura Home Charger.

My Chargepoint works fine. I just had to go into the settings and limit the charger current to 40 amps. Easy Peasy!!!

Not sure I quite understand all that so let me try. You already have a 14-50 plug, and you have a portable charger on that. You also have an Acura Home Charger that the electrician cannot hardwire and suggests a panel update. I'm going to guess you ran out of electrical capacity, hence the panel update. And if I am correct about that, this isn't Acura's fault. BTW, you can also tell the Acura Home Charger to limit its current to 40A.

The charger that Acura gives you for free is Emporia hard-wiring variant.
If you want to plug it into your NEMA socket you can buy something like this
https://www.homedepot.com/p/AC-WORKS.../a-_-n/a-_-n/a
I still would suggest getting a disconnect box and do hard-wiring of the existing circuit.

BTW, if you already have Charrgepoint EVSE, what for you need the junk Acura gives us.
Sell it on eBay. You may get a couple of hundred bucks for it.

I don't have an Acura Home Charger. I have a Chargepoint I purchased myself and use it on the existing 220v NEMA 14-50 plug with the setting at 40 amps on the charger without problems. If I use the Acura portable charger on the same outlet, my ZDX throws error codes/exceptions/dash warning lights and fails to charge. After taking it in for service, Acura of Modesto blames me for the errors/exceptions/dash warning light and tells me not to use the Acura portable charger since it is incompatible with the Acura ZDX to stop the charging failures. This is clearly stated on the work order. Sadly, no one at Acura of Modesto could identify what the dash warning light indicated(basically an EV version of the Engine Check light on an ICE vehicle).

My attorney thinks the "portable charger incompatibility", stated on the work order is hilarious. My next trip to an Acura service center will put me over the "30 days in the shop" automatic CA Lemon law trigger.

That's because it is, of course. Acura's charger not compatible with their car? That's not defensible in court.

Probably irrelevant at this point, whenever the light comes on, it is a good idea to call OnStar in order to have a better insight into the underlying issue. Sounds like your lemon case should go through easily. Which car do you plan to get next?

Kinda leaning towards the BMW iX. Still got to get my rear into a few more test drives(Lucid, MB, Audi) before that decision is made.

I have no intention of getting the Acura branded home charger(Emporia in drag). I've been trying to get the EVGo charging credit without luck.

Latest Acura service advice for the randomly locking doors/mirrors folding, with a key FOB still inside, is to only use one key at a time in the vehicle, because the second key is confusing the ZDX.

And my favorite so far is when it is raining, the collision avoidance system should be switched off to avoid having the brakes lock and not release without a complete shut off/on cycle to release the brakes. I wonder who has the audacity to make this BS up at Acura.
