Go Big Blue!
I will definitely consider one when the lease on my MDX runs out next October. Might be perfect timing to step down to something with less than 3 rows but still some utility. The up market nature of this product appeals to me. This car looks like it will have everything in it from a technology and luxury standpoint.
The looks matter to me, but evidently not as much as some people. Having said that, I'll wait till I see it in person to pass final judgment.

I think the ZDX is exactly what I am looking for as a replacement for my 1995 Legend coupe.
When Acura quit making Legend coupes and my car had 140,000 miles, I purchased a 2004 TL as a replacement. It has lots of gadgets, but I really miss the "big car" class and ride of my Legend coupe.
I plan to purchase a ZDX in a couple of years as a "pre-owned" so the price is a little more reasonable. But it will still be quite expensive as I want the one with CMBS ($56K MSRP).

We received one ZDX Tech Package a few days ago and so far there hasn't been one negative reaction to it. An older couple I test drove which are coming from an X5, don't need the utility like an SUV has and actually fit in perfectly with Acura's target market. The drove it and LOVED it. They didn't bitch or moan about the grille or about the fact that the 2nd row entrance forces you to duck down to get into it cuz they ain't friggin' driving anyone around other than themselves! My theory is that the people coming to look at the ZDX aren't the type to scowl the internet to read these forums, so they're more likely NOT to have a negative opinion about "the beak" or any "overhang" and what not. If this is more likely, then we're already one up from all the other prospective customers. For the first time in a while, we're introducing a vehicle that's had 95% positive reviews...do I think Acura will hit their targets? I'll say it'll be close, but everyone's gotta realize that each dealer will probably get one or two until the New Year and then maybe 6-7 models from Jan-March - starting in March, that's when Acura plans to market the hell out of the ZDX cuz there just isn't enough product right now. Be patient, test drive one for yourself and then come back here and tell us why this vehicle still doesn't make sense.

I like it but then again I have a 4th Gen. TL that everyone on the internet bags on.
One thing I don't like is how cookie cutter interior all the new cars have. If I were to sit in the ZDX and look at the gauge cluster, I wouldn't know the difference if I was in my TL or the ZDX.
Come on Acura, at least distinguish a little bit between the models. Ughhhhh

Interior is nice. Exterior has fallen down the mofugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. The front end does look better than the new TL though. Nonetheless, the ZDX will not sell. Its sales will suffer from the same fate as the RL. Until Acura ups the anty with their engines people will go elsewhere. The 2011 Mustang V6 3.7L will be 304hp with 30mpg. The Camaro V6 is 305hp with 29mpg. The 3.7L in the TL is 280hp @ 26mpg. Acura needs to up the power from these engines to compensate for all the added weight of these premium/lux vehicles and at the same time reduce fuel economy to be more competitive.

Also, the post I did above, I know i compared the TL engine to sport car engines but my point was is that once upon a time these premium/entry lux vehicles had superior engines and were more efficient than even the sport cars. Now it seems the table has turned and the sport cars are more powerful and more efficient as the lux cars.

My biggest issue with the ZDX is the damm price for a loaded one, thanks to all that ridiculous 'tier one' talk. Acura needs to find it's own way and stop trying to mimic a BMW-Audi-Lexus greedy wannabe.
I've driven Acuras since the 80's and loved them for what they were, reliable, near-lux fun, not a status/badge seeker. Come back to common sense and exciting tier less cars. No daily driver is worth $55k+, not an advance.

I got excited about the ZDX when it was first announced. Because I am looking for my next car and wanted to get an SUV. I'm comparing this against the Audi Q5 and Q7, Acura MDX and the Cadillac SRX. I think the X6 is too expensive after all the options and the Q7 is up there as well, so that may be off the list soon.
Anyone have any opinions?

My mom has leased 3 MDX's and just bought a 4th gen TL. She has been complaining about the TL cause she misses having a large SUV so I suggested trading in the TL for the ZDX and she is considering it ... I think the ZDX is pretty nice.
And Yes, most people do not examine acura's cars as meticulously as we do so their perceptions are probably much more subjective.

I must say this odd new niche may be right up my alley. I love coupes--never had a 4 door of any kind...and hate SUVs, but I do sometimes wish for a little more utility. and getting older, I like a little more luxury and pampering.
The ZDX offers coupish utility and I love the tech parts...but the price and MPG are low points. it's obvious future Acuras will be greener.

I got my oil changed and car vacuumed and washed at the stealership today, so I had a chance to look at a ZDX on the showroom floor. They are just as ugly in real life as they are in pictures. The dealer kept trying to explain it to me, but he just seemed to be reciting BS about how it was for a special niche of customer and competing with the BMW X6 and how it combined coupe, sedan, and SUV to get the best of all of them. I must say however, that I fell in love with the interior. That new soft leather they use is heavenly. He encouraged me to sit inside and it was amazing. The seating felt like a personal spaceship cockpit. It was like a little cocoon. I have never felt so comfortable seated in a car as I did in that ZDX, definitely not a fat person car. A few complaints about the interior though is that the steering wheel blocked the gauge cluster, and there didn't seem to be a lot of cargo space for such a bulky car.

Fail fail fail.
The interior is a nice setup and very much wasted on this Acura Aztek.
The R+D money should have been spent instead on the RL, keeping it modern and fresh.

The X6 is more expensive but after doing more research im starting to see why its more money and its basically because its more vehicle (ie: better AWD system etc).
Depending on what your needs/wants and price range, you should be able to start narrowing it down a little. Value wise IMO the Q5, SRX and MDX are all great vehicles. If design is important, I think the X6 is the nicest and personally I would by a low mileage loaded 2008 X6 over a new ZDX from what i can see so far....
I am going to hold out on my decision till I at least get to see/drive one, but right now im starting to find it hard to compare the ZDX to the X6.

Well not really, the VQ for the infiniti G37 coupe is a 3.7 liter DOHC 24 - valve v6 with 330 HP @ 7000 RPM's(30 more then the acura) BUT 270 lb-ft torque @ 5200 rpms, so it has the same TQ as the ACURA and TQ is what gets the car going!

The ZDX is growing on me. I fell in love with the interior at first glance. The exterior is one of those that is not that photogenic at first glance, but it grows on you. I still plan to test-drive it when it appears in the next week. If only the wife were interested in giving up her Pilot for this or the TSX wagon...but lately she has adopted a "you'll have to pry my cold, dead fingers off my steering wheel" mentality to the Pilot.

ill say the pictures up are definitely nicer, the prototype. the 20in wheels totally changed the look IMO.
but the 17in and 18in stockies on the other pictures? killing the design.
still too $$ imo, but MotorTrend Mag loved it. 4.5/5 stars on the truck buying guide? damn.

Shot I got from the NEIAS...
Looked pretty sharp from the back. The power plenum in the front is very overwhelming, though...more so than in any other current Acura. I'm sure it could look a LOT better in a different color.
