Curious is anyone is using oil between changes? If so, what is your mileage and how much oil does your ZDX use between oil changes?

a few years ago we had sort of a courtesy oil consumption test from Honda USA. I was new to the ZDX. I had the test, my car had like 70K miles. Results: after 1000 miles negligible loss, 3000 miles maybe 1/4 qt. 6000 miles. 1/2 qt.
The repair limits was something like burn a quart 1000 miles. And many failed and got new rings. Us low mileage cars were left since out as it seems to show its head above 100K miles or so.
Im currently at 88,xxx and I do oil changes every 3K miles. On advice of a good friend mechanic by trade, I use BG MOA and EPR every oil change.
The problem is something to do with the piston rings. At least that was the company's repair.
MDX and TL had same motor and same issues too. Lots of data based on the 3.7 as all were basically same.
All of this is my interpretation of what happened back then. Others I'm sure had different experiences.

 

70K. one quart added between changes (7500 mi.).

 

That is essentially where I am. 100k and about 1 quart between changes.

 

I dis the same thing and just like you said, as I approcached 80-100k miles, I began to notice some use, but not even close to what would dictate relief from Acura. I would rebuild the motor if it came to that. Would love to find someone who could bump the motor for a little more output while fixing the oil consumption issue.
