Alcantara roof lining - done!

While my brown Z is stuck in a turbo shop I'd like to present you my long-planned project of covering the roof lining with Alcantara in my white Z. Even though the "premium tricot headliner" on ZDX Advance looks quite good, dull grey color doesn't make me happy. Having sumatra interior, I always wanted to have a color matching Alcantara roof like on Porsche Cayenne and some other luxury cars. Well, now I have it
Here are some pics:

The shop I got to make this project come true did a really good job. They also painted all the roof plastic in matching brown color, and they did the most tricky part of this project - replacing the glass roof curtains with alcantara piece while keeping the sliding mechanism operable. It took them one whole day to get it done, because alcantara is twice as thick as the stock curtain fabric, and the electric roller kept failing, but they were successful.

I hope you like the result like I do!

as for the brown Z its also getting an umber alcantara roof as soon as it gets out of the turbo shop, if I don't die of age before that

P.S. forgot to attach the video that was made by the shop guys
a bit blurry but gives some impression

Did you have to take the whole thing off or was it done on the car. Not too familiar of how that process works.

Almost everything inside was taken apart in order to do this (I added some sound deadening materials to the roof too). Looks shocking

Nice work Sandro. One of the things I like in my TSX Aspec is the black headliner that goes with the black seats.

Damn Sandro! This is looking so sick!

Not gonna lie though, every time I check this thread I'm hopeful for a turbo update!

Glad to have you and Mugen_Kid as brand ambassadors doing some proprietary things with the ZDX and setting the bar for the rest of us. Keep up the great work here!

WOW. Looks great! A little too far on the red side for me, I would have tried a black or more chocolate brownish color to better match the leather. All in all very nicely done. Shop looks like it kept the fit and finish as from the factory! That's hard to do in any car let alone the ZDX.

Did they install stronger electric motors for the shade?

Wow....impressive! Got to admit, seeing Z stripped bare was a little shocking, but very ice results!!
