2013 zdx

Hello everyone I’m currently looking at a 2013 ZDX low miles @8k they are asking 33k for it do you guys think that’s a fair deal or priced too high? Second should I be worried about oil consumption issues? As I have a 2015 pilot I never check the oil on that suv I know engine it’s a 3.0 not a 3.7 and I get my oil change every 10k per recommended. Any help with hopefully acquiring this ZDX would be greatly appreciated.

Those are low miles so the car is almost like new but for $33,000? I would offer them $29,000 and as far as oil consumption, I don’t think that’s a high percentage of vehicles and the ones that do burn could be like mine maybe. I went too long without an oil change 13 months but 2400 miles accidently and it was nothing on the dip stick where most cars would have oil still but that won’t happen again ! I don’t think that oil issue on ZDX cars should sway you negatively and if needed have it looked at before buying. Mine between normal oil changes is fine but you may want to shorten your oil change intervals or keep an eye on it. I won’t ever go that long. The 2013 came loaded with options so you just can’t go wrong with a ZDX because darn car still looks up to date. My 2010 still holding up well , inside and out. If you really want one and have a budget near $30k then go for it !

thank you Kevin for that advice I do love the car/suv however I don’t think the dealership will budge on price will see. They have had the car for a while plus it’s a very small niche of folks that would buy the ZDX as it’s not the most family friendly car most people want more space for me it’s perfect. I do love my Honda Pilot but I feel like it’s a bit much for two people plus not as fun as the ZDX to drive.

They'd better be prepared to sit on that ZDX for a long, long time before they'll find a buyer willing to shell out $33k. Sure, mileage is low but it's still a 10 year-old car (that had trouble finding buyers even when new).

they actually brought the price from 35k down to 32k. Not sure if still worth it? It’s like a new car but yes 1” years old.

I agree with Kevin, $29K our perhaps a little lower. I purchased my 2013 ZDX CPO, Oct 2018 with 37,100 miles for $27,600. I payed extra for an extended warranty (wasted money) didn't use at all. I also payed to have it shipped from Kansas to Virginia. I haven't had or noticed any oil consumption issues. I have no regrets. I would ask is it from a Honda or Acura dealership? I would ask if the water pump and timing belt have been replaced (due to age). If not, I would ask them to replace them (for a discount) as a part of the deal. I haven't changed mine yet but probably will have it done sometime in the near future. I'm now pushing 61K and plan to keep it for years to come so I don't want any issues.

Thank you for advice I did try to get the car for a lower price the most they would do was 32k dealerships claims it was 41k during the high of car prices. As far as water pump and timing belt the car has less then 8k miles on her not sure if that’s necessary I thought timing belt had to do with Mike the car has run and water pump should too be the same however I’m not a mechanic and don’t know that stuff for sure.

Interesting issue: I would certainly be curious to see any data re: low mileage timing belt failures. I know rubber deteriorates with time, but what about the synthetic materials % used today? Storage/climate conditions involved also (?). Tires need more rubber for road grip, but surely not a notched belt (?). An aged tire failure could be deadly, but engine failure would be mostly just damaging to your wallet.
‘BTW: While Acura recommends an age limit on the belt, water pump life is strictly millage based (the gaskets are likely 100% silicon). I plan to push my belt to the millage limit, no matter how long it takes, but every time I flog the motor to pass, I have my fingers crossed!

Wow ! I saw it and it’s like new. I bet that’s the lowest mile ZDX in the world ! Someone kept it like a garage queen. I thought my 77k miles were low 😂

Wow, its definitely a rare find. Its a Canadian ZDX. You can tell by the heated rear seats and the headlight washers. I'm jealous, I would have preferred the Canadian version because of those slight model UPGRADES. Nice, Stock number# 000021 my stock number is 282. There were only 362 made in the final year 2013 and only 410 sold. I also believe the first 50 or so for FY13 were Canadian and then the rest were American. Only 1000 were made for Canada in total for all years. I have a current YAA now known as Car Edge membership that I used to do a lot of research before I purchased my 2019 MDX Sport Hybrid and the current evaluation of that ZDX is roughly $30,648. So the last price you were quoted was not too far off the mark from what they have suggested.

thanks for all that great info will see if I end up getting as it’s 10 years old. It could be a fantastic buy but too scary if I have to do lots of repairs.

Well, it shows up as "sale pending" now, so someone must have gone for it!

its a fact these engines MIGHT burn oil. Its in the design of the motor and the rings. Roll the Dice.
IMO vehicles with super low miles and lots of years are not always the greatest long term drivers. I own a GT500 I see this type of ultra low mileage situ all the time.
Seals and other parts need lubrication regularly. Not always good. Samer with the rings and cylinders etc.

Unless you are buying it to COLLECT IT and put the same 300 milers per year, I would pass.
