New to Azine, new to my Acura, Checking in from Okotoks/Calgary. Love to do a meet sometime, very interested in helping with mods/getting help. My biggest issue right now is finding parts, and knowing what to do. 03' TL Type-S. No idea how to post pics yet.

 

Saw some talk of repairing headlights that have condensation. Can anyone give me a better break down of what I need to do? My drivers side is soaked. (Also, someone did the HID conversion on the low beams and fogs, do I just need new bulbs for the high beams or is there more to it?)

 

The other thing I want to do right away because its cheap is swap all the lights in the dash cluster to blue LEDS. Radio, climate, guages, odometer ect. Anyone looked at this at all?

 

I think we are gonna do a meet and cruise next time.

 

Anyone got a shop in Calgary they like? If I were going to check out one of the dealers and have em do a once over on my car which dealer do you guys like?

Common guys lets start planing something out!

 

Don't ever go to the dealer unless its something crazy like timing belt IMO, their prices are super inflated and 90% of the time I've gone there they don't seem to know what they are talking about.

If you want someone to help you out on that small stuff I would gladly lend a hand, as for the foggy headlights take one of those packets you get in beef jerky to keep it dry and tape it or a couple and tape them to the inside of your headlight for a couple days and it should clear them up, if it doesnt they need to be resealed.

What other kind of work are you looking at doing for your car?

For a pretty penny too, considering they have near zero additonal functionality and I dont even see them when inside haha.

 

Well for a start i'm going to do sway bars and strut braces. My low beams and fogs are HID, want the high beams to match but I dunno if its just the bulbs I need. I'd like to do a full exhaust Headers through mufflers. But thats a bit pricey, prolly not til next summer for the exhaust. Other shit I can do in my garage, I just don't have the stuff to lift the car. Inside swap all the bulbs in the dash cluster and stereo/climate for Blue LED's. I need to repair my driver side heated seat, youtube had a how to vid that looks time consuming but straight forward. Beyond that who knows. I've got a good income and a hard on for my new car so I'm not sure where I will stop. But before I spend any more money on the car I need to find out if my tranny has been swapped during the recall. Acura Canada said that there was no open recall on my car, so it was "probably" done. But I need to know. It hits drive pretty hard on cold starts....but I'm not trouble shooter. Thats why I was thinking of going to a dealer. Just to find out for sure about the tranny.

 

Just finished seeing this 'DIY BBQ' where a bunch of guys got together for a BBQ - and anything anyone needed to get done or needed help with was completed in one afternoon.
Seemed like a decent idea to me - if someone with sufficient tools and space would be willing to host.

A DIY BBQ would be fun but really hard to organize in my mind, we would need a lot more commitment from the guys on here along with a place to plug shit in and tools to get the job done.

However if we decide to do it I would like to try and get my headers on, lol

Does anyone actually have a garage and the equipment to get these cars up off the ground, and the tools to perform all the work?

Thats probably the first step for a DIY day. I'm out in Okotoks with a small double garage and I'm lacking most of the tools right now. Next house I buy, priority goes to a big ass garage that I can fit some serious tool boxes in. Right now I wouldn't even have anywhere to put the shit if I owned it.

Sounds good to me, we just have to figure out a date.
I fixed my IMRC which gave me noticable amounts of power back, and me and drewflemmer are going to put on some headers next friday.

On that note, if anyone else wants to join us we are getting together next friday probably earlier in the day and right now I think its at my place but thats really not ideal so if anyone else has something they want to get done and has a better location that would be sweet.

Nope not for me but I'm starting to look at some new shoes for the whip. Gold or gunmetal, possibly powdercoating my existing wheels to one of those colors

 

I ordered a full set of BLUE LED's to swap out everything on my dash and i'm going to get an eibach anti roll kit front and back sway's, prolly order a cusco strut bar as well right away here.

Nersh and I are getting together Friday the 9th of July to put headers on his car. If anyone wants to come help we'll be doin work in the morning and hopefully going for a cruise to test it out later that day!! come join us, and or if you have a big garage we could use that would be bitchin!

Haha damn, I had a chance to go to deadmau5 twice now and I didn't. I was at Kaskade a couple days prior and couldn't justify another big night out. I'm in for the 18th.

What time on the 18th?? I work till 6 so I may not be able to make it to this one.

Also drewflemmer and I put my headers on the other day and it only took us 7 ish hours!!! with a trip to napa and silverhill as well lol.

Defintely a huge difference in power, I can't help but step on the gas everytime I drive haha. However I think there is a leak somewhere because there is a slight whistle and I threw a CEL.

Traditionally we've done our meets in North Glenmore park. It's easy to get to.

I'm open to other options people may have... Maybe even downtown? There are the big parking lots just north of the new Centennial buildings in the Eau Claire area. Anyone know where I'm talking about? I could map link it. Then we could cruise after.
