@Nersh

I'm pretty flexible since I work from home - maybe sometime the weather clears up? Text me whenever you're free - FYI my new number is 4038600760 so!

@LED DRL'ers

lightdepot.ca - they are drop in replacements for your stock ones. It will most likely throw a DRL error, but hey you gotta trade something eh? ijdmtoy sells relay harnesses/resistors, but I couldn't be fscked to spend 80 bucks on something that probably costs 4 bucks to make.

FYI the last post was a joke - don't take offense. TLs will throw a dash error telling you that your DRL's are out. The reason they think that is that LED's draw MUCH less current and hence think your bulbs are fscked.

Same reason why I have to run in-line resistors for my flashers or else i get the hyperflashing you see when your turn signals are out.

Ahah I knew you'd either hate me or gimme a grim.

Does the 3G have dual-purpose DRLs like the 4G? IE DRL/Highbeams Combo? If not you don't need a relay harness... you just need resistors to stop the error.

Let me know and I'll find you exactly what you need.

Lol That was so funny when your turn signals were like that, I was like what the hell. They're like 3x as fast like that, good thing you got it fixed.

By the way, mobile solutions sells the Passport 9500ix hardwire kit for $50 with the smartcord, and $20 for just the cord lol.

on a 3G when we turn on the Highbeams, the DRL bulbs also turn on. Is that what you mean? DRL is just a high beams with 10% of the power (not sure on the exact % so just throwing a number in there). Is that what the 4G is like?

or am I wrong completely?

I don't know I am pretty sure that mine do light up. Fuck now I don't know I will have to check when I get home. Look on this list of bulb replacements i found for my 2005 TL. Fog/Driving lights are DRL, and highbeams are the same bulbs. Where would the High beams be then when there is DRL and Projectors there only. So DRL are highbeams

DRLs run at 9V on the 4G (probably same on the 3G). Full Highbeams run at 12V.
Some lights look crap running at 9V - the ones I got from lightdepot.ca look great even at 9V (plus I get to flash people with my highbeams still).

What I'd do though is go get the 9005 bulbs off of lightdepot.ca, and buy just the relay harness from iJDMToy here.

I'm sick of my DRL Error on my MID so I've actually just ordered them myself

But if the DRL run at 9V then these won't be on their full brightness and might look like shit because in the description it says they run on 12V.

And that harness from iJDMtoy only says that it's for 2007+ TLs, so don't know it it would work on the 2005 TL.

Random question but since this thread gets so much traffic here goes. Do you guys in Calgary notice a lot of people don't turn their headlights on at night? I was down there last weekend and counted 8 cars while I was driving at night without their headlights on. I was under the impression you could get a ticket for not having them on. Was it just a big coincidence that I saw so many or is this a recurrent problem? I barely ever see people not turn on their headlights over here.

Personally I've never noticed this... maybe they had one burnt out so they didn't turn them on. Thats what I did, since it was emberassing with one light on.

I usually make a point to embarrass people who drive without headlights on at night, but I don't see it very often.
I'd love to go for a cruise but my car is in the shop probably till mid April.

^ damn just saw your build thread and WOW man. IPad in the dash. Sweet. I was thinking how that would look in a 3G TL except sideways but it probably can't fit that way

hey boys, im looking for a guy that im sure someone on here has met the guy im looking for. he has(had) a 2g TL with a 6 speed swap, function & forms etc and he crashed it and was selling it as a whole.

i was wondering if anyone knows who im talking about and if so, does this guy still have the car? i asked him to part it a while back but he didnt want to and i cant find who the guy is anymore. this was on beyond by the way, not too long ago, less than 6 months anyways.

i just wanna know if the guy still has it and if he is ready to part it out yet. or if anyone knows where i can get FF's locally. thanks guys!

Didn't you have a 3G TL? If so the 2G coils won't fit. Just a heads up.

Oh, my bad haha. Well if you want my advice (I'm going to give in anyways haha) if you go for the FF go type 2, I've heard bad reviews over type 1. K-sport makes a good coil over and you can get it for a good price from excellerate on his store and IIRC omni power coils if you can find them are also a good price. These are the three that I know will slam you and from what I've read they all hold up pretty good, but none are really a performance coil over, if your looking for something for that the 3 options you would have would be tien(obviously), or a spring shock combo (can't be adjusted and can't really slam the car though) and AMR's. AMR's are pretty sick but they are definitely up there in the price range.

thanks for your opinion. im still going to go with type 1s considering ive heard way more good about them then bad and the price is right for sure. if i can even get someone to answer me. ive sent numerous pm's emails to different people and no one is getting back to me. i need to mod people come on! haha
