The particular kit is for the exterior finish. You'll need a product to maintain the wheels and tires and possibly the trim as well. You'll also need products to maintain the interior.

Zaino is great ..BUT & its a Big but.. you need a well preped polished surface .. or your wasting your time / money .. you'll just have the shinyest swirls on the block.

Couldn't agree more with Jess's comments about surface prep. You want that surface defect free prior to applying Zaino. Z-5 is a filler and Z-PC is the only abrasive product in the line. Z-AIO has mild abrasives in it but is a combination cleaner, polish & protectant. I would opt for a pure polish for correcting/removing any surface defects.

Agree... Process over Product every time, regardless of how good the product is...

Thanks for the info.
I generally keep my car pretty clean but as far as getting it ready for Zaino besides washing it with dawn what "pure polish would you recommend"?

Also I thought that a polish is for giving the paint dept not cleaning the paint, I thought I would need a paint cleaner to prep the surface but i can be worng. If you could clear this up for me i would appreciate it.

Thanks again for the info.

Polishing is to get rid of the marring and swirling .. it also removes the oxidization. A cleaner can remove oxidization too but not swirling & marring ..

Myself I wouldn't use Zaino or Klasse SG unless the surface was swirl free or I was going to polish it out with a PC etc.

There are a number of polishes available on the market and choosing one really comes down to personal preference. I use Optimum Polish & Compound , Four Star BS and PB SSR. I'm sure Jess has his favorites also.

Polishes for the most part are used to correct/remove surface imperfections such as swirls, light scratches and oxidation. In addtion polishes will rejuvenate your paint to giving it gloss and reflectivity. This will also provide a sterile surface enabling your protective layer (sealant/wax) to bond with the paint giving it a deeper shine. Here are some sources that will provide in depth info. Autopia, Detail University and Exceldetail.

What is the color and condition of your paint?

Can you see swirls, "spider web-like" circular scratches, or scratches in it now?
If it was me, I would start with:
1. Wash it real good and dont dry it.
2. Claybar it real good, and make sure you rinse off all claybar residue - the water that you use when you spray the surface prior to using the claybar.
3. Feel the paint with your clean, dry hands to insure its all smooth over the entire vehicle.
4. If you have any of the above conditions, use a swirl/scratch remover to take them out.
5.FYI - I have successfully used Zaino ZPC-Fusion on some really bad, black finishes in the past. I have had to apply it more than once to the surfaces to get the marks all out, but I was successful in doing this.
6. Apply your polish, or wax, etc. of your choice on your now clean, clear surface.
7. FYI - I have had great success with Zaino products, and their newest, All In One, and Clear Seal are the easiest to use yet.. Read up on them at their website for tips on how to use - right from the guys who invented them. They like to use all their products by hand.
Good luck with your project, post pictures if you can so we can see the before and after ?? DanF

The car is silver and there are no visible swirl marks on it.

Well, if its really clean and not visibly scratched, marred,

Swirled, or has spider-webbing like circular marks that you can see in the sun, then all I would do is:
1. Wash
2. Claybar entire vehicle paint surfaces
3. Apply Zaino AIO (All in One) to entire vehicle
4. Apply Zaino C/S (Clear Seal) a couple of times if you have time.

If you think its clean but not that clear, then I would use Zaino ZPC-Fusion Paint Cleaner/Swirl remover after the Claybar.
Then, do steps 3 and 4.

You want to have the paint really clean and ready for the wax/polish, etc., of your choice first.
Then, whatever you put on will adhere to the surface better and give you all the longevity it has designed into it.

Good luck with your project, I am sure it will come out great ! DanF

i used to love zaino myself... but now there are so many better products available... i personally love einzett... so easy to use.... follow with optiseal (even easier to use)... then upp for slickness purposes (ultimate paint protection.... not to mention even easier then optiseal)... and you'll be VERY happy... i used these steps on 2 cars a month ago... and they are still looking very wet and slick! i dust them every other day... hope this helps
