Window Tint Safe Cleaners
Window Tint Safe Cleaners
Couldn't find a thread on this so was curious which window cleaners or methods do you guys use for tinted windows? I know they recommend ones without ammonia but not sure which one I should use to be sure no damage would occur to my tint.
Stoners invisible glass

Usually anything that's ammonia free. Stoners IG is one of the more popular products that's tint safe. Another cleaner favored by shops is Sprayway. And as Patrick said, a moist MF towel and one to dry is definetly the safest. BTW, here are some other threads about cleaning windows.

Is there a certain type of MF to use? I tried it with some "Zoom Window MFs" and was not happy with the results, I've been using cloth diapers all along.
Caution: do not use products that contain ammonia, as it is very harmful to vinyl, plastic and rubber. It will cause plastic to ‘yellow’ and become clouded and it will also turn Mylar (plastic) window tint purple.
Some people prefer to use plain water to clean their windows. While this is a very safe method, water is not enough of a solvent to cut the protein base of stubborn grease / grime spots
Recommended product- Stoner’s Invisible Glass for stubborn grease and etc, a specific MF made for glass and distilled water

you can use any non-iamonia based cleaner. This work great.
Most glass dealers will also sell this stuff. Or stuff like it. Plus is is safe on plastics, so this is great when doing your windshield and not having to worry about overspray. Plus it is great for detailing the inside plastics of he car, without giving it a super glossy look

After you get done cleaning your windows with Stoner's. What do you use to protect them and help rain bead off them that isn't a product like Rain-x. Also looking for any anti-fog solutions for the interior as a coating inside....

To stop fogging, they sell stuff called Anti-Fog. I had to use it in my Volkswagen because it would get really bad at times. It works pretty good. It doesnt stop the fog 100%, just lessens it a good amount. Now I'm not sure if Anti-Fog is tint safe so if you have tint and want to use it, check the back first.
fyi, stay away from armor all's glass cleaner wipes. got this as a stocking stuffer and used it when i washed my car after coming back from the holidays. this stuff left fibers/lint on the window and streaks. absolutely horrible.
i hate cleaning car windows so much. major OCD if its not perfectly clear and no streaks.
i have some Stoners IG, i'll have to go back over it with this and a MF

Thread revival here. Just got my windows tinted and I see Sprayway is mentioned in this thread, but most use Stoners. Has anybody used Spraway with sucesss? Currently have two bottles at home and love how it works. I really need to read the can to see what's inside there.

Sprayway Glass Cleaner is my favorite glass cleaner, even over Stoner's IG.
I had been able to find it OTC locally, but now I can't seem to find it anymore, except online. I have found Stoner's at the local Target store for about $3.50 a can - great deal, but have had a craving lately for Sprayway again...Exceldetail had mentioned back in January about possibly carrying some Sprayway products. Patrick - is that still in the cards???

Not sure where you are located at, but I picked mine up at Home Depot. Was $2 something a can.

I think its the sense of desctruction and harm from the original Windex that had ammonia. People might be thinking Windex = bad and its hard to change that.
