So far all I've used is 2 microfiber cloths (one for the upper body of the car, one for the lower body) to wash, a California Water Blade to dry along with a 100% Cotton towel to dab whatever the blade misses. Though I did purchase the Absorber a long time ago, I don't recall getting excellent results with it, so I used the towel.
Maybe I'll have to give the Absorber a try just to see!

Viking 100% cotton mitt. You need something that has a good amount of napp/body to hold dirt and keep it from rubbing against the paint.
Here's what they look like

Katana: just curious, what do you use to wash your car with. i found my waffle weave towel and am in love with it because i can dry the whole caar without ringing it out once. i'm just seeing if there are any better drying tools.

well sham, i use a mitt and regular soft cloth towels....i also only use meguiar's gold class car wash soap...i rinse it down, make sure my mitt is clean, and proceed to washing, from top to bottom...i go thru like a 4step drying process...the first is i take 2 towels and wipe over the exterior of the car, to get the main water off...then i take 2 new towels and dry it completely...the 3rd set of towels are for the windows and doorjambs, and the 4th set is for the rims....no streaks whatsoever....always do it in the shade and when the exterior of your car is cool...and thats it
this is totally off-topic, but i knew this guy once that used a dustbuster to "vacuum" up all the water, because he thought towels scratch the surface.....needless to say, that whole idea didnt work out as well as he thought it would

Here's what I use:
Rubber Glove-Lined Australian Sheepskin Wash Mitt
Works great! No swirlies, and it keeps your hand dry. This is key when washing during fall/spring/winter. I can comfortably wash the car in temps as low as mid 40s. Drying is the hard part

Viking mitts can be found at www.partsamerica.com They have stores throughout the US, but not in the NJ area, so I bought a bunch online.
