Wheels repainted -- when can I wax them?

This is a little different than the new car question, in that these haven't been sitting around a dealer's lot curing.

I had some badly curbed wheels sanded, repainted, and clear coated 4 days ago. When can I safely clean and wheel wax them? The repair guy said a week, but some folks suggest longer??

Thanks.

John

Low humidity and ventilation are key. With normal paint work, 30-45 days is usually required, but at a minimum, follow you painters suggestion.

The application of a specific ‘fresh paint safe’ or polymer type product, Zanio Z Polishes (exclude the use of either Z1 or ZFX™) allow an ‘initial gas off’ (evaporate) /cure aerobic process of 7 days before application. These products are completely safe for any fresh paint system as they allow the solvents in an oil-based paint outgas / aerobic cure process and provide some protection for any type of paint surface. After thirty days (30) the paint surface can be protected with a regular polymer sealant and/or Carnauba wax.

Thanks, guys. I don't know if it's an oil-based paint or not, but I'll give it at least a couple weeks of just gentle spraying. After four weeks, I'll clay them and seal them.

So are you going to wax them and clay your wheels just like regular car paint? Also would you be able to do this to OEM wheels like the TSX's?

Yes, basically. But I'll definitely toss the clay afterwards.
