wheel cleaner

i never took my wheels off to clean inside them. So now they are EXTREMELY dirty. There is so much brake dust and grit on the wheels that it is just unsanitary. Could you guys reccomened any POWERFULL I MEAN STRONG wheel cleaner or something that cleans off brake dust and wont damage the alloy wheels?

I am due for a tire rotation so i plan on cleaning them while they are off.

thanks

~One man’s opinion / observations~

Polished (Clear coat) Wheels:

Methodology:
·Remove imbedded brake dust with detailer’s clay
·Use a 100% acid-free wheel cleaner (P21S Wheel Cleaner) to remove surface brake dust, agitate with a boars hair wheel brush and rinse off with low pressure water
·Apply a citrus based cleaner (P21S Total Auto Wash) to the surface
·Rinse off and dry thoroughly and then apply a polymer (Wheel Wax) for protection

Periodically remove the wheels, ensureing that the vehicle is safely supported with an axle stand, to enable the back of the wheel, calipers and give better access to the wheel wells. Should the wheel surface have small scratches they can be removed with a mildly abrasive polish. Tar should be removed with a solvent type cleaner, and any bonded contaminants or over spray removed with Detailer's Clay, then wash and dry wheel surface thoroughly as in methodology above.

~Hope this helps~

P21S Gel Wheel CLeaner
Sonus Rim Bright wheel cleaner
The gel stays put and wont run. I really like P21S, but I also use Sonus, it works JUST as well but is almost half the price.
You should remove the wheels from the car to properly clean them.
