What is the least flattering light for seeing swirls?
What is the least flattering light source for seeing swirl marks on a car?
I'm planning on thoroughly detailing my car and attacking the swirls and spiderweb scratches. In my garage, which has flourescent lights, I have to juke and jibe to get a good look at the surface and the results. I'd like to be able to see the swirls plainly to help me do a better job. What is the best unflattering light source for this job?
Thanks

Or........go to Sears or OSH, and get a 1000W halogen for about $20.00. Comes with a stand, two 500W lights.

The Old Grey Whistle Test
Paint Surface Inspection Lighting-to inspect the paint finish for surface marring - Sunlight, Xenon, 500W halogen, and high pressure sodium-vapour (parking lot lights) Brinkmann - most LED’s merely glow, but Rebel's highly efficient, finely focused lens casts a 40-ft. beam of far-reaching light. Fish-eye-shaped lens focuses the light from the single white LED bulb into a bright, consistent beam; no dark spot in the beam's centre, the LED bulb is nearly indestructible and draws very little power, greatly extending battery life; runs on two AA batteries, included, a tough ABS plastic is armoured with thick, no-slip rubber grips Push-button on/off switch inset in the back cap
