What do you use to wash? i.e. sponge, mitt, etc.
Well my sheepskin is falling apart and I'm looking for a new washing implement. I would really prefer to get something a bit more expensive but that lasts much longer. I don't wash my car all too often, but I started seeing fibers all over the car when I used the sheepskin which bugged me.
I'm thinking about using a MF mitt now, have heard good things about it. I have also heard about "muppet head" MF mitts. Also there's a chenille mitt, grout sponge, sea sponge, the ulti-mitt and probably a bunch of other things I missed. The only thing I've never seen is the muppet head MF mitt, someone care to explain please? And whats with the lambswool mitts, wouldn't they be the same as sheepskin? I don't know about this new foam craze either, it doesn't seem as soft or pliable as any-fiber mitts.
I didn't realize there were so many options... help! Basically I prefer something low maintenance (no shedding), and while I don't expect anything to last forever it should be durable enough to last a good while. Thanks in advance

Also wanted to note... I will be using ONR too (first time) so if a separate product that works better is recommended, then fire away. I'd assume that a MF mitt is preferred for ONR though? That video that Patrick posted in some thread convinced me on account of the ONR, although before that it was simply because I didn't know what the heck it was

Sheeps skin & lambs wool are the same . There is different qualities of Sheepskin mitts .. you might have got a poor one. I have had many and each last a season and then I throw them out .. I had one that looked like it was molting and I returned it. The rest just eventually have the leather portion fall apart but not shed.
I was given a Muppet Head mitt .. used it 2wice .. too heavy .
Sponges / M/F mitts have no real nap and no place to absorb the grit thus marring.

The benefits of the sheepskin far outweigh any issues one must put up with when using. The dreadlock mf mit is too heavy, I'll agree. The chenille mitts are nice, but again too heavy when there sopping wet with water. Ive tried the Grecian grout sponge (and sell them), but really prefer the sheepskin over just about everything Ivetried. The Ultimitt would be my second choice.

Just remember I wash a lot of cars and my own 3 to 4 times a week so I'm in shape that way.

I live right next to a car wash and since our land lord (who is a total asshole) lets them drive through and sometimes park in our lot, they do shit for us tenants like sign for our UPS and FedEx packages and also give us 50% off washes/detailing. So I've just been going there, never had a problem with swirls or anything... they take good care of us and its not that expensive. Best thing is that they'll run it through the wash again if it gets dirty within 48 hrs, no charge.
