Question What do you all use for window cleaning?

Last weekend I did a complete Zaino treatment on my TL (Dawn wash-claybar-Zaino wash-Z2-Z6-Z2-Z6 + interior leather and plastic) and it came out beautiful all except for the windows. I've been using Windex and Costco microfiber towels and can't get rid of the streaks. Help!?

Why did not you use the Zaino glass cleaner? I use that and windows come out pretty clean.

Zaino refers to it (Z-12) as a glass cleaner and polish and I wasn't sure I needed the polish aspect of it. Have you used this product? Is it any good?

Yes I've used it once since I bought in Dec. My windows are crystal clear with those "checkered haze" showing all the time if you know what I mean. When the glass is clean there is that uniform pattern you can see on the glass from a particular angle. Everytime I wash it it get's clean again. I'll use it again the next time I slap on Z2 and Z5 after I get Clear Bra this Sunday from Jeremy.

I have used about all window cleaners including Stoners, Invisible Glass, etc.
I read on some forum about this cleaner and ordered it, I have found it to be the best I have used. I use it along with a top quality (there is a difference)
micro-fiber and my glass looks streak-free. Here is a link to a place that carries it http://www.seeitshine.com/order.htm#WindowFinish
I also use this glass polish before final cleaning sometimes to remove any waterpots and gunk - https://www.duragloss.com/new/products/gl-cleaners.htm

When you say Windex - are you using the liquid pump or the foam?

I use foam in house windows, etc. - doesn't streak like liquid. Always found foam to be better than any liquid pump.

I've been using liquid Windex. Maybe I'll try foam or Stoner's. Thanks.

On the outside, sure.

Seriously, most glass cleaning products are not recommended for tint. There are several better choices. I don't have tint so I can't help you with specifics, but I'm sure one of our tinted brethren will chime in here.

Just buy a spray bottle from the Dollar Store and then make a mixture of 50% water and 50% white vinegar. Very, very cheap and does not leave a haze. You prob already have those items sitting at home. White vinegar + water is a known cleaner for many, many surfaces. I found Windex was leaving a haze on my TL (but oddly enough, never did on my Volvo!)

Any window cleaning product w/o Ammonia is safe for tints. When used on tints, it causes the tint color to turn purplish.

And for your bugs/tar/sap problem, Meguiars has a great lineup of prodcuts that cleans it..check out http://www.meguiars.com/store_meguia...&subcatagory=6 for more info..

this is by far the best suggestion. I have been doing this for years and my car windows always look great. the only thing is that to dry the water/vinegar combo. i use newspapers... and believe me it looks great!!!

I use Stoners InvisableGlass.

I used to use liquid Windex with paper towels, special streak-free towels, and even news paper. Then I tried InvisableGlass, best $5 I have ever spent. It even says that it's safe for tinted windows.

Don't use anything with amonia in it on tint film

You can use purified/distilled water with a little vinegar added (aobut a teaspoon to a pint) and a good microfiber cloth.
