Wax

I have been reading about different brands of waxes for the past 3 hours. Reading reviews from users. I also did a search.
I want to prep my car for the winter and need some recommendations for a good wax to use. I have been using NXT for past few months. It worked great on my SSM TL but it doesn't seem to be working all that great on my NBP TL.

There are a few waxes that I have been considering. "3M Perfect-It Show Car Paste Wax", "Meguiar's No. 26 Hi-tech Paste Wax", "P21S Pure Paste Wax", "Zymol Carbon Wax"

I can't make up my mind on which to get. I was also thinking about Klasse AIO. It's not wax. Can I use it with a wax? Can I also use 3M swirl removal or Meguiars swirl removal prior to using AIO?

NXT is great for a polymer wax.

You are going to get several opinions on diff. products, so you are just going to have to try diff. products and stay with the product you are pleased with. Everyone has their own standards on what represents an excellent wax process, there's just to much standards to compare.

Process of elimination is basically what it comes down to. Just my opinion.

Well i'm probably gonna get the Klasse AIO. Can I use a swirl removal like 3M's or Scratch X before I apply the AIO? I might also get souveran and apply it after the AIO. Should I use SG or souveran?

Klasse AIO is a great all in one type of sealant, its acrylic by the way. But if you have scratches, dont expect a lot. Scratch X in my opinion should be limited to small scratches. If your looking to remove scratches, go with a swirl mark remover such as the one you mentiones 3M SMR, its a very good product, and richens the paint. For durability, SG will blow the socks off NXT, although you may appreciate the way NXT looks, more so. You can always top SG with the Souveran, ($$$$), i'd just go with #26 if you decide to top it. Zymol is way overpriced for a Carnauaba type wax.....Better protection and identical looks with a variety of Polymers, including AIO, SG, ColorX, Blackfire (my fav) Platinum, Fourstar, EX-P, Medallion.

My swirl marks can only be seen when the light shine directly on it. I can't feel it with my nails.
Is it ok to top AIO or SG with #26? Is #26 like Souveran, pure carnuba wax?
I read that it has to be pure carnuba or it will turn yellow something like that.

I just looked at the reviews for Blackfire and i'm impressed. Now how is Blackfire compared to Klasse? Durability wise it seems like Blackfire will out last Klasse.

I love using Klasse. I use the Klasse twins (AIO and SG) on my Explorer. It takes longer to do it, but it's totally worth it. I also used NXT and the process is a lot easier. Both products are great. Then, I apply S100 to top it off. The paint looks incredible!!

I've also heard Blackfire is awesome too. I guess it's up to you.

My car is 3 weeks old, before polishing it and waxing it whether it's using Blackfire or Klasse, should I clay bar it first?

You definitely should because there can be rail dust and stuff stuck onto the paint. But no need to apply SMR or anything because your paint is so new.

this will explain the difference between caranuba wax (all that you listed are caranuba, munis the Zymol carbon,I think, I can't find it on their site.

I would strongly suggest Klasse AIO, followed by Klasse SG. Then after every wash go over thecar with Sonus Arcilic spritz. That combo will surely last a good portion of the winter if not the entire winter. That's the combo I'll be using for this winter.

Blackfire is my main staple product. It is awesome, but not as durable as Klasse. But i feel the depth and wetness are far superior to Klasse SG. I would recommend at a minimum, a good paint cleaning prior to applying anything. AIO would fit that bill also.

At CMA, they tested AIO and Blackfire and it showed that Blackfire lasted longer.

If that's the case, you should give Blackfire a try. It does sound like a very good product but since I don't have much money and already have the Klasse Twins, I'd rather finish that before buying anything else.

CMA also said that Kasse is better. I'm probably gonna get the Klasse twins. Might get Souveran $$$.

I decided not to get the 3M SMR. Since my car is new i'm gonna get either "P21S Paintwork Cleansing Lotion" or "Sonüs Paintwork Cleanser". Can anyone recommend?

BF will outlast AIO, but not SG. It will knock SG's socks off for appearance though.....

Good topic! I always used Zaino but wanted to try another approach--so after reading a few wax forums I have come to this set up for my car...we will see what happens
1. Clay
2. FPII
3. AIO
4. 4*UPP
5. 4*UGE for touchups

How does that sound to the more seasoned detailers

Booyah, 4*, also known as Platinum to us who have used it for some time, is another excellent product. Mimicks Blackfire in most ways , yet not quite as good, but close. Heres another site for some who havent seen this product, I can vouch as can many fellow Autopians.......look here....
