Waterless car wash

Has anybody tried a waterless car wash product? A friend sold me some since he is a distributor.

There are several on the Market. Dri Wash 'n Guard, Wet Paint, PB Spray n Wipe Waterless Wash and Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine are the ones off the top of my head. I'm sure there are others. There are probably limitations how dirty the car can be. I guess it would be beneficial to one who uses it every 2-3 days.

I've only tried Dri Wash 'n Guard & PB Spray n Wipe. When you use the Dri Wash, make sure you wipe everything off and not overspray onto any trims because it'll leave white spots on there.

Im not sure what a "Waterless wash" actually could be? I mean theres some that are added to water, and by meaning waterless, there actually "rinseless"....A lot of waterless washes are marketed as such, but no more then quick detailers.....

I'm a big fan of Poorboys Spray & Wipe. As mentioned above, I only use it when the car only has a light layer of dust. Two common uses for me - dirty wheels following the first drive after a wash, and removing water & drops following a rain storm after a wash. Beyond that, I get out the buckets and shampoo. I'll confess to being very skeptical at the ability of any of these products to lift and suspend dirt...just as much as my ability to effectively remove it without generating scratches.

I think QEW and the new Optimum wash are called "waterless" although both are added to water. Really they are rinceless. Anyway I've used both and they both work really well. I pretty much use them on all the cars I clean throghout the winter months and as long as you're careful (take the same care you do when washing regularly) you'll get good results. I've washed some seriously filthy cars with them. There are some threads on Autopia discussing different solutions. A very common addition to the regular mix is to add some QD to the mixture just to make it a little more slick. Also, it helps if you get a spray bottle and put some of the solution+water mixture in it to pre-soak panels.

Spray & Wipe is a different animal, it's for light dust only. I use it a lot and it works really well as long as you don't use it on anything more than a very light dusting.
