Water behaviour after recent rains: 20 mo Opti Gloss Coat + Gtechniq C2v3
For a little background, I am a detailer in the LA area (but I wrench for my day job) and this is on my wife's 15 MDX Tech (aka The Mommy Mobile). On the paint, I have Opticoat Gloss Coat sitting at about 20 months old and have been using Gtechniq Liquid Crystal for the past 3 washes as a drying aid at a 50/50 dilution. Overall, the car is just about ready to be polished back out and recoated again as the Gloss Coat should be at the end of its life cycle (getting some dullness on the roof). Anyways, here's a photo of how the water acts on the surface of the car.
Really nice and tight water beading that runs off very quickly at any speeds above 30 mph. The car is for the most part dry after a few miles on the freeway.
Post rain clean up. Foamed and washed with 3D Pink Car Soap + 1 oz of ONR in the wash bucket, wheels cleaned with Megs Wheel Brightener, tires and trim treated with CG New Car Shine dressing, and Gtechniq C2v3 as a drying aid. Interior got a vacuuming, mini-extract with ONR, and an ONR wipe down of all the panels.
