Want to Wax but NO ZAINO help?
I want to wash and wax my car this weekend but I don't think I want to put in like 12 hours to do all this Zaino stuff I don't understand and spend a fortune on everything.
What do you guys suggest doing for a "normal" wash and wax? I use to just compound my entire car and then use Mothers to wx it. Any thoughts or should I just do this again? Thanks

do not whatever you do use compound on your brand new car!
Get some clay, if ya dont want to use Zaino (even tho with ZFX it takes less time then normal wax) then get some Mothers or worst case, Meguiars clay.
Then use a good wax, Mothers, 3M, etc.

I would recommend you to try Klasse. It's an acrylic not wax, but applies similarly just easier. All you have to do is get the Klasse All-In-One and put a small nickel size amount on an applicator pad and wipe it one and wipe it off. Does not need any time to dry! One nickel size amount will do an entire section such as an entire bumber, entire hood, or what not. This Klasse All-In-One will NOT stain any plastic moldings or anything. You can use it on glass, plastic, about basically anything that is a solid surface. You can apply as many coats as you want also. I have been using Klasse for about a few months now. My friend has used it on his TL, my other friend on his 1.8T Jetta, and my other friend on his BMW 750il. You do not need a buffing machine it really makes no difference because pressure is not needed for this acrylic to work. We have tried it using a Porter Cable 7336 and it produces about the same result as doing it by hand, just that with the buffer you won't be as tired. There is also the Klasse High Gloss Sealant that adds an extra coat of scratch protection, but it takes longer to apply but it makes the color of the car (if you have a dark colored vehicle) more "darker". If you have any questions as to how to use or where to buy...feel free to PM, IM, or e-mail me, or just post! Have a wonderful day!

It's no 12 hour job!! Wash, prep surface, apply show car finish, wipe off (Z-2 use ZFX); spray Z6, repeat. Actually, the process goes faster than traditional waxes b/c it doesn't leave white crap all over the adjoining rubber surfaces if you accidentally get some on it. I put three coats on my car this past weekend over a 2 day (4-5 hour) period. I've used everything out there and NOTHING looks like a Zaino shine, I am a true convert forever.

yea - Im not going to tell you to use Zaino - use what you like.
its just that the "oh man, it takes all day to zaino" is a misconception that needs to be put to rest.
yes, the first time you go to do it - there are lots of things to do, and some seem repetitive - but it is all geared to making the finish the bets it can be. It would be the same advice if you were going to start a new program on your car - Meguiars , Klass, Zaino - etc. You want the surface clean and ready to shine.
You can, if you want - skip steps - no big deal. Its all about what you want from the finished job. We suggest lots of things to make the results what they are capable of being.
I can wash, dry and apply to my SSEi, a single coat of zaino and be done in less than 1 hour - start to finish. Then its Miller time. On to the wheels, interior etc - but a basic "wax job" takes as long , or actually less time than a traditional wax job. No white residue to clean up, no machines to pack away, change pads etc . .
And again - if you want wax - use wax - just take the time to do the job right, and the results will be closer to what you want.
