Using G110 or PC question

I am aware that when used correctly it will eliminate minor swirls and scratches but was wondering to achieve this then it would be taking a small amount of the clear coat off the car?
If so, wouldnt this cause high and low spots in the paint work afterwards? Meaning you get the ripple effect when viewing the side of the car at a tight angle when light reflects on the panel.

From my understanding, the polishing is basically wearing down the edges of the scratch to make the "swirls and scratches" not reflect the light back at you. Thus causing you not to see the defects in your paint. Also from what I've read in my research use the least aggressive combination of product and pad to achieve your wanted results.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Your talking about VERY VERY small microns of paint. As long as you are not "grinding" away at your paint every season with very aggressive polishes, you really dont have a lot to be worried about.
1 mil is 1/1000th of an inch, most car paints are about 6-8 mils. (3-4 layers of Blue Painters tape)

I hate ripple and wavey paintwork you see, Id sooner live with some scratches and swirls that have a shiny yet wavy panels.

your not going to beable to cause a ripple effect no matter what you do with one of thoes polishers...this is made quite clear when you have a scratch that appears to be pretty small and you still cant remove it with a pc...

That is called Orange Peel and is not caused by polishing with a PC etc ...

.

Wasnt referring to orange peel, I was referring to high and low spots caused by inconsistency in paint/ clear coat thickness.

No, it would not cause that... so you are safe to use it.
