Just a side note the black roof was done with Danase Wet Glaze.

















Roof and headlight overlays are from Blue Batmobile. Roof has held up excellent over one Canuck winter.

 

Jesstzn: Your car ALWAYS looks like a rolling mirror...I know it's hard to get white to "pop",but yours(I've seen other posts where your TL was in the sun)just looks like it came off the showroom floor. Great looking WDP!

 

Jess, even on a cloudy day, the reflective shine on your car is awesome.

Its all in the prep ... I polished the beejesus out of it ...

 

I guess I should add the steps ..

1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Polish out with a PC and Optimum polishes , mostly a white pad and the Opt. Polish ... the odd spot with Opt. Compound on an orange pad using a 1000W Halogen for lighting.
4. Wipedown with IPA
5. 4* x 3 at least 24 hours apart

White has color physics working against it with regard to depth/clarity of reflection, but done like jesstan shows, you can get the most out of what you've got.



Here is another white car with pretty much the same items/process (no compound and only 1 layer UPP):

Yes, seriously. But then again, my main example of white is my roommates 01 lincoln continental that he washes every 3 months. Lol.

 

White is a beautiful color to work on, and it sure looks great when done properly as Dale has managed.....

 

You ever consider a CF hood to go with the gloss black roof?

 

Damn, I wish I could let my car sit in a garage for 3 days so that I could put 3 layers of UPP on!!

 

Not really .. I'm not a huge CF fan .. might look ok ..

 

Actually 1 layer was one weekend then the other 2 were a day apart but I washed before each layer.

How old are you? You must not be that old to have that energy to put into your car. You live in a nice place...just noticed the backdrop...reminds me of some old country roads I've been on in Switzerland. And thank goodness you won't do the carbon fiber hood. I like the black on top only.

It is not after UPP but look what reflection you can get out of a WDP.

Closer to 3 or 4 concidering out season is only April to mid Oct. This time of year I have done 6 a week .. right now our weather has been bad and I just started up doing cars .. got 4 done since last wed .. todays was a 4 door Dodge PU 4x4. I still have 11 in the que and being added to every few days..

Ya I didn't even know it was there till I pulled the frame off .. I just used one of those little plugs they use om Robertson screw heads and painted it to match.. In most cases its hardly noticable but the camera picks it up.

 

Very very nice! What does IPA mean? It's not in the sticky.
