Turtle Wax - Ice
Turtle Wax - Ice
I just thought I'd throw this out there... I went down to my local Checker Auto, and got to talking with one of the guys I know there. I was asking what to use for a wax (I've used many different waxes) and he recommended the new "Ice" by Turtle Wax. Very rarily does anything match up to expectations, but I was PLEASANTLY surprised by the quality when finished. It's nice because it's clear, it does not leave the white "dust" when finished. Still have to watch the trim, and like most "wax products" you don't want to let it sit too long. Good stuff!!!
Actually, everything that I needed came with it. I was just at Walmart, and they sell it for $16.37. You get the bottle of wax (Ice), and it includes a foam applicator as well as a cloth to take off the wax.
I bought the whole ICE kit. Works amazing and leaves the car with a nice shine. I did a little spot on my car to test it out and was shocked how nice looking my car came out after i wiped it off.

turtle wax ice look nice the first day then after that you need to reapply. i found it does not last long and it does not it protect as good as other OTC products. i personally have given up on turtle wax and will never touch their products ever again.
and dont even think about touching their liquid clay bar COMPLETE FAILURE.

for 16 bucks there are much better products out there to be had....if i was still using otc products i would use nxt 2.....or some other meguiars synthetic sealant....
...are you kidding me, you use that many microfiber cloths. i used one for the entire car. sealant comes off easy and by no means saturates the colth. i think you might be using too much sealant. if your using wax, then i can see you useing more then 1 but 8-12 seems like overkill to me.

Used it over the weekend.....unimpressed
My car will get Meguiars Clay Bar, Deep Crystal Polish, then NYT 2.0 to seal this week. NBP is PAIN, but damn it's pretty after you invest some elbow grease!

I've used the liquid polish and the liquid clay bar. I've been impressed with both. Granted the liquid clay bar is not as good as an actually clay bar, it is good for those quick wash jobs. The liquid polish works wonders bring things back to black. It does leave a certain glossy shiny on the black parts, but after your next wash, the gloss will be gone, however the trim will remain black.
I've been using the Ice for the last few months. I've found that about every 2 to 3 washes I have to reapply (I try to wash weekly.) When the soap hits it, it seems to wash away like the dirt does. But the bugs do come off very cleanly and easily, so I've got to give it some credit.
On the up side, it is very easy to apply. It really doesn't take all that much longer to apply the wax than it does to wash the car. And it does wonders to plastic parts. We did my buddy's Silverado with it and all the grey plastic trim (around the chrome bumper, under the hood etc.) looked brand new after one coat. It really was something else.

Just used the liquid polish this weekend:
The product smells great.
Went on well but didn't like that the product soaked all the way through the applicator to my hands.
The polish dries clear, so I missed a few spots and had to go back to towel it off.
This morning saw a few spots I still missed, hopefully I will be able to towel it off.
Let's see how long it lasts.

Purchased my 99' TL / navi 2 months ago. The previous owner really neglected the finish of the car...misc scratches and paint chips everywhere. It shows up quite easily with the Firepepper Red finish. I purchased the car when it was raining (figured it's a good test to see if the moon roofed leaked)
so I did not notice the scratches...could have beat em' down more on the price.
Just used turtle was Ice for the first time...90% of the scratches dissapeard!Looks great! It gets my vote! Saved me a paint and I get some "street cred"

Ohh, by the way, that was my first post...Hello to all!
The Ice product did a great job getting rid of the scratches, bugs, etc.
Also, the bugs don't stick to the car as easily.
How long does a Meguiars Clay Bar application takes to put on a TL?
I might try it next if it lasts longer...
