Trim on 97 2.2CL
Anyone know of a product that will revive the black trim on the bottom of a 97 2.2CL? Its on the front, each side and the back. Armour All just doesnt cut it, looking for a permanent solution. Would something like Forever Black work? http://store.premiumautocare.net/foblbuandtrk.html

you can paint it with the factory paint. in order to get the paint to bond to the plastic, you just have to sand it down, primer it, and then spray an apoxy on it to make the paint stick. since mine is a 97, my skirts are plastic, and they're painted.

Paint?
I dont think painting it would work. It was never painted before, just black plastice. The product i mentioned in the original post was like a black dye really used for the plastic pieces on the window trim and the like. Thanks for the input, but im not going to paint. Will explore other options.
By the way, I just got done painting my wiper arms though. Use a spray black glossy enamel and they look great. Jury still out on whether they will stand up to Texas heat and rain, though.

I'm telling you guys, painting it WILL WORK. when my car was white, i had them painted, and now they're blue. as long as you do it the right way, you wont have any problems.

3M Plastic Cleaner and 3M Plastic Polish. This still didn't give me a jet black look though. I'm not sure I have the patience to brush paint on all that trim. My main problem right now is getting wax/glaze residues out of the trim.

Taken right off that website-
Forever Black is an easy-to-use permanent dye. It permanently colors black plastic, rubber and vinyl with the same polymers that the manufacturers use.
Silicone products will make plastic, vinyl and rubber appear to have regained their color but the change is temporary.
so.....its permanent, but only temporary?? i dont get it.

Forever Black Tire Gel ... not the bumper kit ..
And yes I have used it .. I know it works ..
Use a $$ store cheap yellow/green kitchen sponge and dampen it then apply the Gel to it and wipe on the trim. Let it dry .. takes about 20 min. Apply another layer .. even 3 if you like . It lasts about 30+ washes.
If your not steady mask off any close painted areas as once it dries its hard to get off.

Try mothers "Back To Black" it works really well and seems to last a good bit...I put some on my jeeps black trim a month ago and it still looks great...
