Too late for clear bra?

This weekend was the first warm day to detail my car. After getting through all the dirt and grime from winter, I can't say I was surprised to see all the chips in my front bumper.

The paint looks good when I'm standing a few feet away but I can't stand the thought of it getting worse. Is it too late to throw on a clear-bra? Think it will adhere with the chips in it and is it worth it?

I thought about taking it to a detailer and having them do as much as they can to spruce it up a bit. Anyone think it would make much of a difference?

Just out of curiosity, how much would a new front bumper cost? Clear bra is usually around $600 right? Would it make more sense to get a new one? Just a thought...

Repainting the bumper would make more sense before getting a new one, but I'm not sure it justifies repainting/replacing. My big question is will it adhere to a slightly scarred surface and not look at like crap?

You could touch up on the bumper if it isn't too bad, make sure its nice and even before applying the clearbra because any imperfections will cause the bra to have "bumps".

You guys should PM Rockblocker or Mark 3M Bra Man and ask them about it. They could provide you a better insight about the particulars of the product. Here's a thread to help you out: PPF

As long as the car is cleaned properly, a clear bra will have no trouble sticking. We've got two older vehicles in our bay right now receiving StonGard, and both have a number of chips on them - no problems with adhesion.

If you touch the car up first, a clear bra will still look good and will definately help keep the car looking great for its lifetime.
