TL Interior covered in mold

I have a 2002 TL Type S that has been sitting for a year and a half. There was some condensation inside the windshield and the cabin is infested with mold. The interior is literally covered in mold. Any ideas how to quickly get rid of it? I want to clean it up and part it out to anyone who needs parts from it. I appreciate any help.

When you say "covered in mold", how bad is it? Any pics.? After 18 mos., with even a small water leak, on a closed vehicle. you've got a job on your hands. Which parts, do you feel there is actually a market for? It may not be worth your time, effort, and cost. Hard parts, should not be a problem, they can be cleaned, and left in the sun, which should remove most of the mold. Electronics, iffy., no telling if internals are corroded! Soft parts, instrument panel, carpets, seats, trim, are another story. Even if scrubbed, and left in the sun, to dry, may not remove all the mold. You may want to consult the ( Special Interest, Wash and Wax ) Section, for some professional guidance, on this issue.

The seats, dash, and steering wheel are completely covered. It has a lot of good parts on it. I'd hate to see them go to waste and get crushed in a junkyard. Thanks.

So, in this condition, some parts may be salvageable, all four doors, hood, deck lid, fenders, bumper covers, door glass, and window regulators, should all be usable, other than needing cleaned-up. Most interior parts, not so much. Under hood parts, headlights, tail lights, etc., should be good. All hard body parts should be fine, after cleaning. The main problem, there is not a very strong market, at least in my area, for 2G TL parts. Even a sound engine, can be had here, for $300.00, or less. It hurts, to watch something like this go to the crusher, but, IMO, it's probably not worth your time, and or effort. Salvage yards here, are paying approximately $300.00, for a complete car, regardless of condition. You may want to see if there is a local trade school, in your area, that might be interested in it.

Rent an ozone machine and it let run for a a day and kill everything in the car. The mold residue will have to be cleaned. A steam cleaner should work great! Follow up with another ozone treatment to be 100% sure you've got it all cleaned.
