Tiny Bird Shit!

Hello:

I'm really freaking out. I just bought my ABP TSX on Thursday and I left for D.C. on Fri. I got a tiny, pea-size bird shit on my hood and didn't get a chance to clean it off before I left. I don't get back to my car in cali until Friday. Thats about a week. I parked my car outdoors witha car cover on it. Will the bird shit eat away at my paint? Help!!!!

Yes, bird crap will eventually eat away (etch into) the paint damaging the clear coat. However, I wouldn't worry about one week. It shouldn't hurt anything in that short of a time. Just be sure to clean it when you get back.

I recommend getting some Meguair's Quick Detailer to keep in your car for removing those bastard bird bombs. It is made for quick touch ups and won't scratch the finish.

Could I use the Mr. Clean Auto-Dry when I get back instead? My girlfriend got me a car cleaning kit that includes that, a microfiber sponge, a chamois, tire dressing, and leather conditioner.

I haven't used that yet, but sure, it sounds like it would work. Like I said, just try to not let the crap sit on your finish too long.
