Throw Up!
Throw Up!
Someone threw up in my car last night! For those of you who don't know me, I'm have OCD. Dust on my car makes me nervous. How do you think I feel about risotto chunks in the perforations of my perforated leather? Any ideas of how to get those out and the smell out?
I feel worthless today. I'm at work and I don't want to be here.

what would the pro do? i stayed up till 5 am cleaning most of it out. i cleaned with lexol leather cleaner, and lexol leather condition. however, it still smells and there are some chunks left. also, would the dealer be a good place?

They have to shampoo everything and they have a special enzyme based cleaner that will remove the smell from the leather.
A buddy of mine had the same thing happen in his V70R when he volunteered to pick up some drunk people from a party. He had it professionally cleaned (took about 8 hours) and it was good as new. Expect to pay a pretty penny though.

The question I would ask myself is, am I totally comfortable with doing something like this myself to save a few bucks for the sake of my car's interior, which I want to keep as perfect as possible?
There was a thread like this over on A-TL:

No updates on if the car still smells.

I feel your pain. My gf did this to me a while back. I nearly broke up with her....
Luckily, she got most of it on my all season mats (best hundred bucks I ever spent), and not on the leather. The spillage, I cleaned up with lots and lots and LOTS of Resolve carpet cleaner. After the smell of carpet cleaner wore off (that took a long time) and a couple Lexol/Vinylex sessions, it went back to smelling like new. People have complimented me on my new-car smell after this has happened. Whenever they say it, I say to myself:
"if you only knew..."

But I was talking about just the seat covet....not the whole seat.
So off with the seat cover, clean the hell out of it (the seat), put new seat cover back on.
Clean the hell out of the old seat cover and eBay it or keep it for the next

? I'd try the enzyme thing first, it should be done by a professional, unless you know how to treat leather.
Worst case scenario would be to get the seats re-upholstered.
If you got the leather seats wet/damp from trying to clean it, time will be needed to let it dry and it will smell until it is dry. Maybe you should get something to neutralize the air, until it dries.
