Teflon Sealants - are they effective

Recently, my neighbor gave me a bottle of stuff called TPS that he swears by. He's been using it on his car for the last 8 years and to be honest it doesn't look half bad. According to the bottle TPS stands for Teflon Protection System, and sounds like some kind of sealant to me. I gave this stuff a whirl on my NBP TL and although the shine isn't spectacular, the stuff seems to be pretty resilient: its been on the car for about a month and the surface still feels slick, and water still beads up. After a good rain, a lot of the bugs on the front bumper won't be there anymore.

Just wondering what your opinions were on this type of product. Here's something similar to that product that I found on ebay:

I'd greatly appreciate any inputs on this stuff, since I was contemplating putting this stuff on my S2k. The low bumper of the S2000 seems to attract all kinds of wildlife and I'm having a tough time keeping it clean. Not to mention the rock chips. I figured why not give this stuff a whirl and see whether it helps. Anyone want to dissuade me?

Klasse is great. Difficult to work with in my experience, and not worth the efforts involved. Thi is in my own experience. Im really loving the Duragloss 111 though!
It may replace my UPP!!! i need to do some additional testing though. This weekend I have a Range Rover LR3 and a Honda Element. They'll be good test beds as they are at the coast.

Oh definetly thin! I tried 3 applications and didnt have any luck with (SG) it. I ended up giving the bottle away. I just didnt care for the looks, rather sterile in my book. But thats me. Others have had much success with using it.
Maybe I was expecting too much with all the hype it gets........

Is duragloss sealants layerable? Their website say's they have cleaners. So wouldn't the cleaners remove the layer below if applied overtop?

The CCP #111 a.k.a. Clear Coat Polish, is a synthetic with no abrasive or chemically enhanced "cleaners". It can therefore, be layered. Keep in mind, as with any product, there has to be some kind of distillate carrier that could attribute to cleaning. But as with 111, it is of no significant value or purpose with my experience.
