Synthetic Chamois vs Waffle Weave
I have a quick question for everyone before I place an order.
I have been using "the absorber" synthetic chamois for years and I really like it, but I've been hearing a lot of people on here raving about waffle weave towels.
Is there any real benefit of waffle weave over a synthetic chamois?
If I do decide to get one, I have my eyes on Meguir's "Water Magnet Drying Towel", is this one pretty good, or is there as good or better for less $$?

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
I switched about a year ago... I think The Absorber is great for windows since you get that 'squeegee' action, but it seems too abraisive to the paint if you missed a spot while washing.
Also, the MF waffle towel I have seems to do the whole car much faster, and without having to stop & wring every once in a while.
I use this one from Griot's Garage. It's still like new after a year. Oh and unlike a chamois, you can just toss it in the washer by itself with a little woolite and you're done. No wash/wring/wash/wring hassle like the chamois.

Great info above. I switched for the same reasons, and use a combo of waffle weave/water blade. I have yet to find a towel that's anywhere near as absorbant as the, well, Absorber, but I definitely like how gentle the MF towels are by comparison.
I have a few towels, and recently bought some more. I cycle through so there's always a fresh one. In my experience they're pretty impressive until the second wring/shake, but then need to dry out before reuse.

Thanks for the info. I have already placed an order for a waffle towel. The one I ordered was about the same price/size as The Absorber. I am hoping it will be in by next weekend for my next wash.
Now I have to figure out the best way to clean glass, I am thinking Stoner's Invisible Glass.

I recently bought the Absorber to try it out. I was impressed with it's ability to absorb the water. Thing seems like rubber, that absorbs? I was amazed. And yes, it's great on the glass. The thing I didn't like about it, as being rubber like, it tends to stick to the car. Doesn't glide like the waffle towel, which I have also. All in all I like the waffle towel better. I normally use several and follow up with a MF if needed.
