Swirl Marks already?!?!
Swirl Marks already?!?!
I have my 06 TSX for a little bit over a month now. I have done two washes so far and the first wash includes a wax.
My car was out under the burning sun today and I saw bunch of swirl marks on my hood and random lines on the side of the car...not much though. The marks on the car shouldn't be called swirl since they are lines...but i don't know what else to call them.
How did i get those stupid marks already??
I am getting a waxing machine next week and plan to do a wash + wax. Would Meguiar's Scratch X or Meg's quick clay remove those marks? I have both of the products I just said...but never got a chance to use them.
Any suggestions?

The most common way to get swirls is during the wash. Using a sponge is the most common mistake, as a sponge can trap dirt very easily. Also, if you double dip in your wash bucket, your putting dirt back into the same water you use to wash.
Get yourself a lambswool wash mit and use 2 buckets. 1 is for the wash, the other is for the rinse. Or, some places sell a grate that sits at the bottom of the bucket that will prevent you from going to the bottom of the bucket, which is where all the dirt sinks. Also, for drying, pick up some waffle weave microfibre towels. This is another area where swirls can occur.
Clay will not remove swirls, but its a good idea to clay anyway. I would pick up some PoorBoys SSR2, but scratch x would work also.

I do use one of those lambwool wash mit...but only one bucket. How do I do it then?? Dip it on bucket one...wash...dip in bucket it 2 to wash the mit...and back in bucket 1 and continue washing?
do you have any experience with Scratch X?

Look at the pictures in this thread and then the end result. There are numerous threads about swirls, marring and fine scratches. They also list the products used in correcting/removing these surface defects. Should give you an idea what can be done with the right products and equipment.
I just washed, clayed, Klasse AIO and SG my '06 TSX and noticed there are some rough bumps on the car. They are not scratches but more like a rugged line formed by bad paint. They are on the roof, side panels, back bumper, and other random places. Any idea what they are and how to get rid of them?
