Swirl Mark Remover?

I got some swirls nothing bad, and I tried to get them out with my pc using opt polish and compound. I tried them with different combos of pad/product/speed and I just failed. Is there any advantage to using a swirl mark remover as opposed to using a product like opt polish?

swirl remover is just another word for polish and compound....some are more agressive then others, same goes for the pads...what speed were you operating on...i would say if you have some moderate swirls, optimum polish or optimum compound and an orange pad with speed set on 5-6 would do the trick....

Another suggestion would be smaller pads... when using the PC I dont outfit it with anything larger than 5" pads...

Anything larger than 5" pads on a PC wears on my patience

Check the thread I just made about a C300 .. shows you what Optimum polishes can correct and the Mercedes paint is a lot harder than ours.

Im using 5.5 inch pads, I started off at speed 3 and made my way up to 6 and I made no progress. I used a white pad with polish and then with compound, I then moved up to a orange with polish and then with compound and went back to a white pad with polish. I've done many cars with success but now Im at a lost. I know the opt stuff works cause my bros car was worse and I cleaned it up fine. I was tempted to got to a yellow pad but I know the swirls arent that deep. BTW my cars is a nissan 350z which has softer paint than an acura

There is no given magical number of passes which must be made. Some paints take just a few, some may take 10! Ever work on a Vette? The physics havent changed. Use an abrasive pad, with an abrasive product, and you WILL abrade a softer surface. Believe it or not, soft paints require firm pads, or the abrasives have nothing hard to break down against. I would suggest trying the Orange pad with the compound again. Work a small 2x2 area until its near perfected. If you see haziness, thats quite alright, and expected on nearly all paints. Then go to a white pad with the polish.
4" pads are also a welcome sight on stubborn paints and swirls!

It took three or four passes on our NBP RL to get most of the swirls out. It was definitely an exhausting process but worth it in the end.
