Suggestions on cleaning chrome...

My Explorer has chrome bumpers & trim. I HATE CHROME! But I'm stuck with it. It's very weathered & doesn't look good. What can I use to clean/polish it? Something that will make it look like new. I tried to clay it & that didn't do anything.

Thanks

Simichrome polish

I use Simichrome polish. I had some very subtle scratches on my chrome window trim (it was getting rubbed by some overgrown bushes – thanks neighbor ) and didn't want to rub-a-dub the chrome off, but wanted it to look "perfect."

It's not as aggressive as some products, and if you look around at metal polishes, you can probably find something that will fix you up.

For my needs, which relate to not removing a lot of metal, I use the Simichrome and then follow with Zaino.

Imported from Germany. Designed to polish - without scratching -any ferrous or non-ferrous metal. That's right...virtually any precision metal product, die mold or machinery! Here's a polish that has been "discovered" by jewelers, coin collectors and laboratories...people who depend on Simichrome every day in precision metal polishing; and yes, a polish that is powerful enough to handle the most exhaustive metal cleaning and polishing tasks around. Shelf life exceeds 5 years when stored in a cool, dry place.

Try to find either Seapower or Never-dull, both of those work really well also.

Simichrome and Never-dull are both great products.

See Katana, I agree with ya.

I tried this stuff that was recomended:

http://www.flitz.com

Didn't help with 11 year old chrome trim though. But it looks good to keep new stuff clean.

BOMS AWAY, METAL POLISH AND SEALER

Why not do 2 steps...ALL in 1... polish it and seal it...

...

Great stuff.. Costly, but it is the best stuff I found.
