Steps to a detail

So this Sunday I plan on spending some QT time with my baby because I have been neglecting her. I Usually just do a wash and wax it once every 3 months or so.

What I planned on doing:

1. Wash
2. Megs Clay Bar
3. Megs Paint Cleaner
4. Megs Polish
5. Megs Carnauba Wax

What do you guys think of these steps?

Steps look good, although I'd flip flop step 3 and 4. Polish after you clay and use your paint cleaner prior to waxing. The paint cleaner will remove any polishing oils left behind and properly prep the surface for the wax to adhere to.

Keep us posted on how things turn out.

I think he might be using Meguiars 3 step Deep Crystal system Cleaner, polish, and wax.

The advantage to that setup is the paint cleaner will remove the dead/dreary paint revealing exactly what needs to be polished out. Todays polishing oils really dont deter waxes (especially nubas) from adhering as they contain many of the same friendly chemicals to make them ..........usable. Truthfully, I have never even used an IPA (alcohol) wipedown prior to applying a sealant.
Throw a glaze in the mix, and things change, but then again, glazes are probably the most misunderstood/misused product I have seen.

Yups, I'll be using the Meguiars 3 step process to accomplish this. I just bought a clay bar starter kit and I'm dying to use it this weekend.

I'll try a glaze next time i go through the process. Just curious though...when do you apply the glaze? I would like to read up on glazing when I have more time.

I bought Megs Clay Kit last weekend but was unable to do anything because it started raining. Hoping to get it in this weekend.

+1!!! This stuff is like $8 a 6-pack?

Can't you just use coors light or something? Or is there some secret micro-abrasive that does wonderful things for the paint in the IPA?
