Spring Cleaning w/ Pollen

Here in North Carolina piedmont area, the trees are in full bloom and pollen is in the air everywhere. The nice thick film of green crud is all over everything, including my car as you can imagine. I just got my 04 TL about 3 weeks ago and have only washed it one time w/ some Mag (not dawn). My question is should I wait till pollen season is over because of the fine particulates in the air, or do you thin it would be ok to dawn, clay, and polish?

Dawn is for dishes. Seriously, it will dry out your trim. Don't use it on your car.

Re: your question, can you detail in a garage? If so, I would go ahead with clay, polish and sealant.

Ahhh, I thought I read on here that you use dawn to take off any wax or residue before you clay.

And yes, I do have a garage so i can do it in there.

1) Never use dish soap on automotive paint.

2) Never use cotton towels on automotive paint.

I got the dawn part from the Ultimate Car Care FAQ right here on this site...

https://acurazine.com/forums/wash-wax-23/ultimate-car-care-faq-273425/

"Bi-Annual Detailing Processes

1. Wash car with Dawn Dishwashing Soap
2. Dry car with combination of The California Water Blade and Microfiber clothes . Both available at any Pep-Boys"

I don't want to use the dawn every time, just this first time to get whatever gunk is on there.

The sad thing about that particular Ultimate Car Care FAQ is it contains some not so great practices and product comments that are flawed.
