soaps that remove wax

i am aware that detergents(dawn etc) strip the wax off. Is there anything in particular to look out for when using a car wash product that may affect the wax? I often use armor all car wash products including their wipes- i can only assume these do not affect the wax(the product simply states it is clear coat safe)

Most of the soaps you get that specifically say they are for "Car Wash" shouldn't take wax off. I think I used to use that Armor All "Cold Water" car wash stuff...it worked pretty good. I've since switched to Meguiar's Deep Crystal car wash (comes in a big pinkish jug, but the soap is actually clear). It's thinner than the Armor All stuff, so it mixes better in water.

Regarding the wipes, you'll find that most of the members here don't like any type of Armor All protectants, since they contain alcohol and basically speed up the drying process. I used to use the stuff, but after reading the expert opinions around here, I stopped pretty quick.

Meguiars Gold Class wash, it's my favorite of all of theres. I switch to NXT everyonce in awhile just cause I like the smell, but GC is the way to go!

they contain alcohol and speed up what drying process? the wipes they make actually are spot free so no drying is required. They seem to possibly take away the pure shine of the wax, so i am using detail sprays now for more light cleaning as they just add to the shine of the car.

car wash

Einszetts Perls shampoo or Zanio Z7. If you dont want to spend that much then try Meguires Gold Class. One wash from Perls will convince you though.
