Thanks everybody.
SJ...get your motivation on...we want to see juicy NBP pics!
Slakerz...I get frustrated watching Barrett Jackson. I look for swirls and defects every time they have a closeup on the car (it's nice having HD), and usually see them. How in the world can somebody take a $150K car to an auction looking like that? Well I guess they're getting big $$ for it, so I just answered my own question.
And thanks for the trophy, I'll add it to my shelf.

Hey TSC17, nice work! I have a question about the door handles. Although your car doesn't have scratches within the inside of the door handle(the oval indentation part) from nails and stuff (I read how you trained your kid to close the door super carefully, haha). I was wondering what is the best way to get rid of those scratches? Is there a super small machine that can get in there to help polish it out? Or is the only way by hand?
Oh, and another question. What is the best way to clean between the emblems? Like the "A" and "acura" etc..I noticed that there's a bit of a build up of crud between the emblems on my car. Makes me want to debadge it and clean the area and rebadge it.

For the emblems, you can either de-badge and re-badge, or you can take your time with a soft toothbrush, q-tips, toothpicks, etc to thoroughly clean the area. If doing this method, I would tape off the painted area surrounding the emblem so you don't risk scratching anything.

Cool, thanks for the swift reply Todd! Another question if I may. I'm a rookie at detailing, and I don't know any good detailers around where I live.
Is it necessary to get a paint depth gauge if I were to use a random orbital on my car that I have bought new? And if I were to get one, what is the reading that deems the clear coat "thin" for Acuras? And I guess, exactly how "low" can I go in terms of stripping off the clear coat (probably wouldn't even happen, but just curious).
Thanks!

Acuras typically range from 100 to 150 microns depending on the area of the car. You don't want to remove more than about 7 microns otherwise you'll lose the UV protection which will eventually result in clear coat failure. To put it in perspective, you might remove .5 micron during a heavy compounding session with a rotary (very aggressive combination). A car shouldn't require many heavy compounding sessions!
So use common sense, don't spend too much time on edges and seams, and your new car should be fine with the occasional polish via PC.

I see. My car is 4 years old, and I haven't polished it before. I'm thinking of polishing it every couple of years or so because it's garaged and I don't take it up to the mountains or anything of that sort. But it has been damaged by improper washing. I would like to invest in a PTG, but wow, never imagined it would cost so much. Too bad I live in California or I'll let you work your magic on my car! So then I wouldn't have to worry about these things, haha.
