Simoniz system....
This is the paint protection package that they offer. I am curious if it actually works. I am not asking if it is a ripoff, because I am sure it is. I am aware that you can protect your car yourself relatively cheaply. However, to what extent does this system that they offer work? Thanks.

Burning Brakes
A friend of mine works for Honda and he says it actually works, but it is a huge rip off. My local acura dealer wanted $400 to put it on the car and my friend said the stuff costs $15. In fact he got me a few bottles I just haven't gotten to use it yet.

Seriously, what's the big deal about waxing a car? It takes an hour of your time to do a really good job. But lets say you don't want to spend the time to wax the car. For $400 you could have the car completely detailed inside and out four times.
Also, what did the paint look like on your last car when you sold it? Chances are it still looked pretty good. Today's paint systems are vastly improved over the systems they had in the 80's when dealers started to offer paint protection packages. With regular washes and waxing twice a year your car will keep it's shine until you sell it.

What is the best towel and soap to use to wash my CG car? Something that wont take the wax off or scratch it. Also can I get an exact procedure on how to properly wash a car. Thanks, I am a nooby at this.

Unfortunately, car detailing has many people that swear by different methods. Here is what I personally do and use and it works ok by me.
Washmitt: Nothing touches my car but a lambskin mitt. I only use this on the paintwork, I have another, cheaper mitt that I use on the wheels because the paint on the wheels is much more durable. You don't want to wash the pain and wheels with the same mitt because the wheels get super dirty and this could lead to scratches one the paintwork.
Soap: Right now I use the Zaino soap, but I don't recommend it unless you plan to adopt the entire range of Zaino products. In the past when I wasn't using Zaino, I have used Sonax shampoo, P21S shampoo, 1Z Glanz Shampoo, and 1Z Perls shampoo. I think any of these products work just fine, I've never had a problem with any of them. All four should be available at www.autopia.org or www.detailersparadise.com. Sonax I believe can be bought at brick and mortar stores. Many people also recommend the Meguiar's line of products
To dry your car, I use waffle weave microfibers, again avalaible at the two above web sites.
