Simoniz Glasscoat Dealer Option

I bought a new vehicle and the dealer offered me a Simoniz GlassCoat treatment for the exterior which included a Teflon interior treatment for $595. The thing that caught my attention was an included lifetime warranty covering both from damage not covered by Ford. If I go for it, the reason would be for the added security, since I have had issues with past vehicles that would have been covered with this.

I just wanted to see what others think about this??? I don't expect the treatments to last that long, but more for the insurance of it.

All I know is I can buy any Simoniz product at Canadian Tire, and they sure as hell don't cost $600. Really, you're paying $45.95 for the product, and $550 for the labour. Save your money and do it yourself

No. It's bullshit and Ford corporate may not honor warranty on surfaces treated by it.

Fuck this shit, dude. It's a slimeball dealer padding profit.

Ha..ha... I hear you guys! Your probably right about denying any claims if I had an issue.

Thanks for the input! I'm passing on the product.

I'd probably pass on everything the dealer offers, except maybe gap insurance.

We used to sell some shit called "resist-all" for about the same price. Whether the actual product was snake oil or not I don't know. What I do know is they backed their warranty up 100%.

A couple examples...

They replaced the entire carpet and rear seats in a RL because they were stained with juice and the stains wouldn't come out.

They had a 7 series completely repainted because it was caught in a neighbors over spray of their fence painting.

It doesn't matter what ford corporate would have said, they weren't the ones who made the product or put the lifetime warranty on it. To the op, if the warranty looks good and you fear paint or interior damage, go for it. In the end your really paying for insurance
