Shamwow?
I have been watching these infomercials saying how great Shamwow is for polishing and drying cars. Apparently it holds up to "20x its weight in liquid." Do you think this would be a good alternative to the microfiber towel for drying my car. Judging by the infomercial it seems that it would be awesome, but that's the whole point of an infomercial, they always do....
Has anybody used this before or has an opinion on the matter? Thanks.

I bought a similar product more than once at autumn fairs in New England. A little expensive but works great for drying the car. Need to be sure that it doesn't pick up any grit so store in a permeable bag so it can dry protected.
Its no different that the Water Sprit or the Absorber and both thos work great EXCEPT that have way too much traction on the paint surface and one little piece of grit and you have a scratch ..
Stick with the M/F ...

I bought one at the L.A Auto show last month, 2 for $20 i payed $10 my friend payed $10.. Seemed like a good deal. I watched the guy do all the things done on the commercial. It convinced me.. I took it home used it on the car. Let's just say my fake $10 pepboys shammy works better. IMHO it is a piece of Sh!t...I tried to use it in diff ways to dry the car, but no luck. It still left streaks that the sun will dry and leave water marks. My shammy leaves it completely dry.. It does hold alot of fluids that part is true. I also got a polishing cloth which works amazing for removing wax. Over all i rate it a 4/10.. Hope this helps
I bought a similar one @ the Philly Auto show last year. I must say, those guys are very convincing. But ultimately this product = FAIL. On my NBP it left streaks and colored bits of lint even after I washed them. I now use them for the water left on the door sills, trunk, gas tank, and engine bay after a wash and for a quick touch up on the wheels after the rag has been wet. Not worth the $20 :thumbsdow
I used it to dry my tsx once, and I think it did a little better than a regular sham. It certainly isn't what 'Vince' on the infomercial inaccurately said it would be. Compared with a regular sham, it required less ringing out and also less times going over the car. But, if you have something you like a lot, then just stick with it. Its not magic. My brother didn't like it at all on his Hyoiuieaeaandi Tiberon. I think the car looked just as good as always after the wash/dry though.
I like how they use a c-class in the infomercial.

After sleeping on it, I just wanted to apologize for any misunderstanding to Patrick. It was a lighthearted moment. Plus, what I was trying to get across is that because of Patrick's outstanding reputation, if he had carried this product, we would have absolutely known is was a good product-inspite of the name Shamwow.
we still love you steven, i just wish you would remove that list of stuff you put on your car so we could scroll through the posts quicker....a one word response from you takes up a whole page on my laptop....

I think I was able to set some kind of setting to disable those.
I only see them if I view a post without being signed in.
I think you can also disable avatar images which makes pages load faster.
On another note, I appreciate the respect on this board. I would like to think I deserve it rather then have to earn it. In other words, its nice knowing my contributions are acknowleged and in good standing vs. "Im a distributor" and have earned the respect on here through monetary contributions.
Azine is BY FAR, my most most visited, and enjoyed forum.
I respect all its members who frequent this particular arena (As I have no reason to venture far from wash and wax). Great group of guys, phenominal amount of knowlege and experience is present (and growing every week).
I love this place!!
Lastly, Shamwows are for those who know no better!
steven you list is good to go now, i just set it on my end so it doesnt take up the whole page....not that you were going to change it on my account anyways!! i still give you credit for the cool shift knob that i stole off you....
