Sealant on Wheels?

I'm feeling kind of frisky tonight and am planning on taking the wheels off my Santa Fe to clean the backsides and the barrels. I also would like to throw a coat of sealant on there while I've got them off but don't have any dedicated wheel sealant.

Would BFWD or UPP work okay for this application, provided the surface is clean?

Yes, you'll be fine. Durability is a concern though.

Yeep .... why not zip down to WW and get a bottle of NuFinish Liquid for about 6 bucks ... it works great and lasts forever. I have used it in the past and will again soon as my Klasse SG runs out.

^ How would you compare NuFinish Liquid to something like Poorboy's Wheel Sealant? Is NuFinish Liquid better bang for the buck?

I've been very curious about this too...I have NUfinishi, but not sure if it's the liquid...is that the best at keeping the wheels clean?

Sounds good. Looks like I'll pick up some NuFinish the next time I'm at Canadian Tire. Since you suggest Klasse SG, would Optimum Poli-Seal also work than? OPT Poli-Seal is also an all-in-one product.

Klasse SG isn't an all in one , Poliseal doesn't have durability your looking for.

I said I "could" suggest but I didn't because of the $$ And NuFunish will do near as good on wheels.

I think they are all about the same in durability, truth be told...but for under $10.00, why waste the good stuff on the wheels?

I have some Poorboys Wheel Sealant. Have a couple coats on now and love the ease of cleaning with it.

Know that doesn't solve your immediate urge or question on whether or not do it, , but take it as you wish.

If you treat wheels like the rest of your car, you shouldnt have any issues with brake dust adhering. Unless you just dont treat your car for extended periods.

+1 for Klasse SG on the wheels. Brake dust just slides right off.

Look, if we were trying to save money, we wouldn't be detailing nuts, right?

You use SO little SG product on the wheels, IMO it's completely worth it for the ease of removal of dust/dirt.
