Scratches, Swirls and Dullness Help needed!
Has anyone tired the new Meguairs Ultimate Compound? It's from the consumer guide so it is for the average joe. I am wondering if it's easy to use. I have a black TL so we all know how black cars are with dings and scatches...but damn their nice clean...let me know
I have a 2006 acura tl. I have paint chaulking on the side skirts. It looks like it has been sand blasted, and my car is black, so it shows, it looks like my side skirt is always dusty but its not. The surface is rough even after waxing. I have tried everything type of wax, scratch remover and NOTHING works...I know their is a way WITHOUT repainting, someone help....lol...

To be honest if you are gonna do it by hand maybe, if with a machine its to aggressive. i would try swirl X before i would try that. On a new car like the TL its not really needed and acura's have thin clear coat to begin with so ... i dont know,

There are tons of Meg's products that we don't get here in Canada, and those that do finally come are months late. I'd really love to try Ultimate Compound as well, so if you find it anywhere let me know.

That hazing your talking about on the side skirts is most likely from winter road sand and the likes .. if so your not going to polish it off... it is basically sand blasted.
One thing you can try and I have used it on very mild cases is the Turtle Wax colored wax. But just use it on the side skirts. Apply a couple of layers and if its going to work you will know after 2. Then if its working apply a couple more then put a good sealant over it to maintain it.
Another reason those ugly mud flaps pay off. I run them in the winter and I actually make extentions for them for more protection.
As for swirling on the rest of the car .. doing it by hand isn't going to work .. even on the soft Honda paint.

Ya exactly man, its basically sandblasted, ive used the colour wax, black, but it just covers it, and wears off after awhile, apparently using a compound will bring out the shine and restore the clear coat..I will have to try and get this meguiars compound ANY OTHER TIPS? THEIRS GOTTA BE SOMETHING!
