Scratch Question
I probably should know the answer to this, but I don't so here goes. I have a small scratch about 3/4" on the hood of my TL. I just washed and waxed today. My question is should I use something to remove the wax in that area before I use touch up paint? Suspect I should but I don't really know. Sorry if this is a dumb question...
No such thing as a dumb question.
When I touch up minor imperfections I make sure I'm working on a clean and dry panel. I would clean the area with warm diluted dish washing liquid formula. This will remove the wax. Then with a light alcohol solution i would prep the area.
Once thats dry I apply the touch up paint, let it dry as per the directions. Once dry clay bar the area to smoothen it out. Then buff and reapply the wax + sealer.
Hope this helps.

The answer i gave you reflected your original question. If you want to post a picture of the scratch it may help.
