Road trip...which 3M painter's tape to buy?

Hey everyone,

I am going from SF to LA and plan to cover my front hood and bumper with 3M blue painter's tape. I wanted to double check with you guys to make sure I am getting the right tape... Is this the one?

http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...eyword=painter

Thanks.

I buy my 3m painters tape from Lowes. It's cheaper. Also I get the 3M painters "surelock" line it seems to stick better IMO.

tracwrap - is for short term trips and events like auto cross, road trips, high speed driving, and cross country travel. It has a specially formulated adhesive meant to remove easy and last temporarily. Using tracwrap means you still get to show off your vehicle. Cross country road trips and exotic car owners are equally happy with the transparent, clear look and protection provided

Plasti-Dip - is an industrial grade, high solids material formulated to provide a semi-permanent, smooth, thick coating. It is flammable, similar in appearance to flexible vinyl, and is resistant to abrasion, cutting, and marring.

I just put the bra on ... The OEM one is excellent and in the end saves you a lot .. Might not look great but neither does the tape and only takes 10 min to put on ..

BTW another alternate is black electrical tape ... $1 per roll ar WalMart ..

no alot of people who track their cars or cross country them, use this as a cheap protectant. It works well, while it looks ugly but who cares what it looks like for the short duration, better then having to repaint your whole front clip like I had to do after 4 years of rocks chipping away at the front end.

I've got the OEM bra too-it looks great, actually. It has a Carbon Fiber look to it.
