Question Removing stains from headliner?

Took the car in for service and didn't notice the mechanic got his greasy prints all over the headliner until it was too late.

Any tips on removing the stain without ruining the headliner color or texture?

Sorry for the large pic.

I can tell you what I use with great success, but, can't guarantee that it will work for you.

I like to use Chemical Guys Fabric Cleaner at 8:1 in a spray bottle. I would spray each spot once, let that dwell for 5 minutes or so, and then use a low nap microfiber to blot it out. If that doesn't work, I would respray the spot with the Fabric Cleaner and use my carpet steamer for a few seconds on that spot, then blot dry with a low nap microfiber.

You can also try Meg's Quik Interior Detailer (QID), but, it's cleaning properties are not as strong as something like the Chem. Guys Fabric Clean.

Good luck!

I've had good luck with Meguairs APC Plus diluted at 10:1, but it's never been tested against grease.

Headlining / Headliner -

Duragloss 451 Fabric & Carpet Cleaner Aerosol Foam (FC) is a blend of surfactants, which gently foam away soil, oil and grease from fabric and carpet surfaces. Spot cleaning can be done without leaving rings on fabrics, carpet and velour. Use Dr Joe dedicated Lint-Free 100% Cotton Blue Huck Surgical Towels, using very light pressure and wipe the headliner following the cleaning with the water based cleaner (do not soak or use hot water on the headliner fabric as it may delaminate) Dry by blotting with a clean, dry surgical huck towel

My friend decided to throw his soda from McDonalds out the window in my car and it got all over the pillar. I used Armor All Carpet (Fabric) Cleaner and it took the crap right out. Saw something on the headliner over the back seats and the stuff took it out too. Its a foam that seeps into the fabric. But I'm not sure how it would do on grease, but it worked well for my messes.

Spray Woollite Dry Cleaner.
It cuts the grease and mustard.
