Removing a Scratch on Door Trim

I have a scratch on the black trim around the door windows and was wondering if there was a suggested way on removing it?

It's not quite a paint scratch so I'm not sure what to do. When dry, the scratch looks white so it's annoying.

Ouch! what I can't tell is whether the scratch is really deep or just on the surface. My guess is its pretty deep if Scratch X didn't do anything.

My Suggestions: Replace the pillar post, or
Fill in the scratch with a very fine layer of Black paint and then cover with a very fine layer of Clear coat. You could get a clear coat "Pen" from autozone or the like.

After the step above I would prob wet sand the extra paint flush with the rest of the pillar and buff to a nice shine but you prob do not have any clue how to wet sand or own a buffer in which case I would prob leave it alone

It's not really deep, mostly on the surface but it's really white at certain angles and when dry. It's not the biggest deal but I was looking for a quick simple fix.
