Red Erasure 5.5 Pads, shortage.

For those of you from this forum who may have ordered kits or pads as of late:
Lake Country is entirely out of red foam to make my pads! I placed an order for several cases of pads back on Oct 1st to minimize a time period where red pads (5.5") may have fallen out of stock. Here we are at the 17th, and Lake Country still does not have the material to fill my order.
Needless to say, I have no 5.5" Erasure pads in stock, and Orange will be next to fall victim.
I certainly appreciate everyones patience, as mine has grown extremely thin at this point. I'm also seeking additional locations to purchase pads from, and believe I may have stumbled across one a little more local to me (what are the chances).
Im just not certain they can replicate diameters and thickness of the current Erasures.
So again, I do apologize for this inconvenience. I know how this may mess up a few weekend details, and am truly sorry! But I did try to avoid this circumstance by ordering nearly three weeks ago. Usually LC has a 2 week turnaround on my orders, but man.....they fell way short this time. They may be keeping overhead at a minimum due to economics?
If anyone wants to point fingers, you can point them at me!!
I think at this point, I will ship all items for all orders, except the pads. I will just have to eat the shipping to ship the pads out when they arrive.

I will ship all orders out until I see some daylight with this issue. Once I hear from LC that (materials have arrived ) mine have been completed, I will wait for their arrival, then ship those orders which included pads. Truthfully, I dont see that happening for at least a week. With that said, all orders placed for at least the next week will ship with no delays. Everything to this point, with the exception of two late afternoon orders, are already in shippers' hands.

on a different note, i cant imagine needing red foam for anyhting....black is soft enough for all your lsp products....i would think red would be too soft...no??

Someof us like using the softest foam compound available. You could use black, but red is an extra step in softness. Works fabulous with UPP (and the likes). Black could also be used for glazes and all in ones, even finishing polishes, but red would not support those products.

thats cool, maybe i should give the red a shot...i use the black for upp, and its soo soft, that the pad is starting to come apart a little on the edges after about 3 uses for upp....i can imagine red not doing the same thing only sooner....since its softer

Your being a little rough on them then Vin.......Although the compound itself is very soft, the pad/material is very durable. There should be no pressure applied when using the Black or Red pads......The only pads I have ever "worn" out, is a 4" yellow, and a 5.5 Orange after about 12 uses......

i have only been using the pressure that the machine itself applies, no extra pressure as i move pretty quick with the lsp and black pad....thanks for the extra advice!!

The red pads are by far my favorite for LSP's. I typically use black/grey or blue 3M pads for the finishing step. I usually only apply pressure when I want to release more of the LSP product from the pad to the surface.

Sweet! Just placed an order today for some 4" pads, backing plate and a 6.5" red pad. Now if the rain would only stop long enough for me to wash my damn car so I can give it a once over with the PC....

YEAH!!

I got red pads. Looks like another weekend with the UDM, the '07 and the UPP.

I love getting packages from Patrick. Always a piece of candy and maybe another goody or two.
